The Watingale Siblings

Chapter 6: Rafiel Watingale

Chapter 6: Rafiel Watingale

Dec 27, 2018

As soon as we walk in the door, Ali immediately looks to see if Mom has left to pick up the girls yet. She might be the most overprotective sibling out of all of us. When she finds that she already left, she heads to the kitchen and seems to begin stress eating. I go up to my room to put my stuff away and head back down with Anna and Ella to get a snack. Ali actually wasn't getting food at all, but was really getting her phone from off the counter. She always forgets her phone on the counter when we leave. She's probably texting Mom, getting any information she possibly can, because that's exactly what she did the first time Ella had any problems.

Ella was always a special child. She skipped a grade and is still top of her class, and is teased often about her smarts. This was probably why she freaked out when we teased her a couple days ago. She does have a few friends, but all of them are LDS like we are. Usually LDS girls are nicer than girls that aren't. There are some who are nice, but with how the world is becoming, There seems to be less and less people who one can trust to respect the 'no profanity' aspect of christian mentality.

Now that I think about it, Ella has been very quiet through all of the recent events with Gracie. I guess she just doesn’t want to think about it, as it is probably a little scary for her and Gracie when people purposely harm you. It wouldn’t be for me, as my father has taught me to be the type to fight back. No, I have never needed to, but, y’know, just in case.

“Have you gotten anything yet?” I ask when she turns her phone off and looks up.

“She says that they are looking into it and that they will get back to her when they have more information.” Ali replies. “Hopefully they get back to her soon, I don’t want Gracie to have this recurring.”

“Maybe those boys only beat her up because she almost hit them. Do you really think that they would beat her up again when it only happened once?” Anna said.

“I think that no one knows except those boys, and they might decide that she is a good candidate for manipulation, and that she could be useful for getting them stuff or something. It’s happened before.” She countered.

“That doesn’t mean they will. All I’m trying to say is that you shouldn’t worry so much about what could happen, rather than supporting Gracie and helping her get over what happened.”

After that, Ali seemed to be a little more calm. She looked like she was forming a plan or deciding how to go about doing what she just learned to do. I finish my snack and head upstairs to do my homework.

About thirty minutes later, Mom, Shirui, and Gracie get home and everything seems almost fine. The only thing that is off is our usually loud and obnoxious Gracie is very quiet, and going through her daily routine without any unnecessary talking very unlike her usual self. I don’t have any time to stand around and watch or ask any questions, as I have to leave for basketball practice soon and I need to get ready. I hope Gracie gets better, and that this problem is solved soon.
