It pops up randomly in different parts of the city. An urban legend claims that it is a site of a murder that yet not happened, and it looks for it's victim. If you lay on it so that it outlines your body - you'll die.
It was 3AM, or something about that when I came across it on my way from the liquor store. It even had a part outlined for the bottle I was currently holding in my hand.
To say that I was drunk at that moment is to say nothing, because I was drunk for the fourth day straight. I guess, I just found it entertaining. And, you know, it's kind of hard to find things entertaining when you're dpressed. So I turned to that dark side-street and walked closer. For some time I was looking down at the white outline of a person painted on asphalt. Then I kneeled and layed down on my back.
A clear sky, peppered with billions of stars, stretched all in front of me. Suddenly I felt a great relief as that last portion of air I always retain in my lungs when exhale in case there'll be no more air to take in ecaped my chest. Finally, I heven't had to struggle any more. Finally, I could let it go. Finally, It wasn't my guilt for all those failuars. The asphalt became warm and acceptive as if it was gently embracing me, as my eyelids started to fill with weight. The very next moment everything has dissolved in a viscous darkness.
- Are you alright?
- Fuck! - I jerked and swang my hand while lifting my torso. The very next moment I was sitting upright as my heart was pounding and lungs gulping air. Quiet confused I looked around - I still was on the same side-street, but it was morning already. The outline on the ground has dissapeared as if it never was there. Then I looked at my hand - I still was holding a bottle of liquor but it was all empty. Apparently its contents poured out on the ground when I fell asleep.
- Do you need any help?
I turned my head: a young woman was sitting aside me rubbing her forhead. Immeditely I realized that I have hit her with the bottle upon my awakening.
- Fuck! Shit! I'm so sorry... - I rushed toward her to look closer at the damage I've caused.
- That's fine. - she replied while taking her hand off.
Something stopped inside of me at that moment. That inner clock in my head, that was counting my hours and seconds, what seamed to be twice as fast as it should have been, went silent. I just was standing there stareing at her... breathing. Cause I could hear it in her voice. Cause I could feel it in her moves. Cause I could see it in her look. Cause I already knew... it was her
The End... Yes.
