Daniels Father drove both Rhys and Daniel back home as the doctors said that Daniel could leave after a few extra check ups. They sat in the car in silence, no one dared to say a thing for the fear of some breaking down crying. On the inside everyone was crying and wishing that time could slow down everyone, but Daniel. Why? Daniel didn't even know, he in fact wanted time to go faster. Daniel couldn't understand why he thought that but he kept constantly thinking that. 

They arrived back home and they all went their separate ways, firstly Daniels father went up to his room. 

"I'll help you to your room, you need to take a nap."

"Yeah...thanks." Rhys didn't say anything instead he just started to walk towards the stairs.

"Aren't you coming?"

"Yeah, sorry..." Daniel walked towards the stairs and Rhys helped him up as Daniel was still very weak. 

They got to Daniels room and just as Rhys was about to leave, Daniel grabbed his wrist. Rhys flinched.

"What is it?" Rhys asked his a voice more soft.

"C-could you stay?" Daniel said weakly.

"...yeah sure." Rhys turned around and sat on Daniels bed. Daniel felt his vision start to blur and then rapid tears came running down his face. 

"I'm sorry...I'm really sorry."

"Hey, there's nothing to be sorry for." Rhys said, softly patting his head. 

"No, I have to be sorry, if I wasn't so stubborn and taken the treatment you wouldn't have to suffer, I was just being so ridiculously selfish!"

"Hey look at me..." Daniel looked up and made eye contact. "No matter what it is not your fault, I don't care if I suffer I care if you are suffering because I feel like you are. I want you to know whether you wanted the treatment or not it was your decision and you don't do it for me or James."

"I know bu-"

"No buts, you don't know because if you did you won't be crying." That stopped Daniel from crying Rhys wiped his tears away with his sleeve.

"Hey Rhys, I-I really really love you."

"I know, I know." Normally this would make Rhys blush and a bit flustered but in this situation he was just happy that he heard that phrase before...

"Can you give me a kiss?"

"Heh, of course!" Rhys leaned down and when he was about to give a small peck James came in. 

"Dani-oh sorry." He slammed the door shut and Rhys and Daniel both made eye contact. 

"OH. MY. GOSH!" They both whisper shouted. They  looked at each other in the eye shocked but also trying to hold in their laughter. Unfortunately, Daniel smirked and ended up laughing loudly cause Rhys to laugh as well. They started laughing and laughing to the point that tears were in their eyes. 

“I can’t believe that just happened!” Thus said when he finally caught his breath and calmed down. 

“Me too!” Daniel exclaimed. Daniels father didn’t really care who Daniel dated as long as he was happy Daniels father didn’t even care. Daniels gather James was quite happy that the person that Daniel is in love is is Rhys because James felt more secure and knew that he would be in good hands. 

“Alright, alright you... need sleep!” Rhys said. Daniel have a disappointed look and gave and said, “Aww fine!” They bent down and gave Daniel a small peck on the lips, Daniel gave a large grin and started to close his eyes. Rhys patted his head until Daniel fell asleep. 

When Daniel finally fell asleep, Rhys gently placed his head down on the pillow and started to walk out of the room when Daniel started to whimper.

"Please don't leave me...Sorry..." Rhys turned around to see if Daniel was awake but turns out he was talking in his sleep, Rhys turned around to walk out when Daniel said something in his sleep that made hi stop dead in his tracks. "...I should have died long ago..." Rhys slowly turned his body around and saw that tears were slowly creeping their way down Daniels face. 

"No Daniel...if you died long ago, I wouldn't be here..." Rhys said quietly. "I would have went with you...honestly I don't know how to react. I want to cry, I want to be angry, I want to be reasonable. But, I-I can't. At first I didn't want to believe it but then I saw on the CT scan that the tumour was extremely large I reluctantly accepted it. I didn't want you to know because-because I wan-wanted you to be happy and not have to worry about-about dyi-dying..." Rhys was crying by now. He walked over and sat beside Daniel on his bed, bent down and gave him a long, gentle kiss. "Fo-for earlier..." Rhys could feel his eyelids start to get heavy and before he knew it he was fast asleep beside Daniel.
