"Well, Because only Alteans should be able to see the light."
"What do you mean, Allura?" Lance asks nervously.
"I meant what I said, Lance."
Coran walks over. "The Princess is right, my boy. Only Alteans should be able to see the light. So very strange that you can see it, at all. The only possible explanation for this would be..but that's impossible!" He chuckles, twirling his mustache.
"What's impossible, Coran?" Lance asks nervously, thinking it's something bad.
"Oh nothing, my young paladin!"
"Is it really nothing?" He asks again.
Coran thinks for a minute, twirling his mustache again. Allura looks at Coran, "like you can tell him".
Coran sighs, stops twirling his mustache and says,"Well, my boy, the only way possible to see the light, is if you are Altean or have some Altean blood in your body; some relation to us."
Pidge turns her head towards them. Lance is surprised her head didn't fling off. "Wait, but Lance isn't Altean."
"Exactly. But we still do not know why he can see the light." Coran says to her.
"Hmm, hey Lance. What color light is it anyway? What is happening in your perspective?" Pidge asks Lance.
Lance looks around and thinks,'In my perspective, huh.'
He gathers his thoughts and says,"Well, it's red. (Keith's is)But it turns purple when I go near it or it goes near me. It kinda feels like...the desert. Really hot. I also have a light around me. It's blue. It kinda feels like the ocean. Like I can hear the waves now. I can practically smell salt water. It feels like I am at the beach. It's nice. Wait." He stops in front of Pidge. "You have one too. But yours is green. And you too, Hunk! You have a yellow one." He looks at Shiro. "Eek! Um, Shiro, yours is purple and black. Some red here and there. It looks..scary. Hunk's looks all safe and warm, pidge's looks, well, like a forest. But when you put Hunk's and Pidge's together, you get a sunny day in the forest. It is really soothing to think about. I can practically feel some spring day wind." He sighs. "Hmm, I don't know what is going on with mine and Keith's though. Shiro's just looks...kinda sad; kinda in a turmoil, like his emotions are out of wack. Kinda like a hurricane or tornado of emotions. A tsunami or something. Really sad. I feel sad now." He looks around some more, taking in all the colors. "Coran has one too. But his is some cheery looking orange. Very bright. Allura's is blue, pink, and purple. It looks like..flowers. Like a meadow." He stops. "That is all I got."
Coran and Allura stare in awe.
"What?" Lance asks, a bit nervous.
Allura tries to speak but can't. Coran finally musters up the courage, after closing and opening his mouth like a fish, and says,"Lance..are you sure you are not Altean?"
"Um yes, I am. Why...?"
"Well, only a, hmm about, like, how long is it, princess?" Coran asks Allura after being stumped.
Allura replies. "About as old an Altean as my father, Coran."
"Ah, yes, yes! There it is. You see, Lance, only an Altean as old as King Alfor should be able to feel, see, and describe the light like you had just now. And you are only 17, in human years, correct?" He turns to Lance.
Lance didn't know what to say to that information. He finally says,"Yes, I am."
Everyone else was too busy watching the interaction, being shocked and other stuff, instead of talking. Their thoughts swirled in their mind. But one stood out: 'Is Lance really not Altean?'
(I will finish this when I get back sorry for the cliffhanger...again Edit: I am back srry for the delay)
