Lance leads them to his room after Allura asked to see the book. When she said that her brother also had one, he was..conflicted. He felt strange. Like his heart was torn. He felt like they were talking about him. But that's impossible. It wasn't like he was Allura's brother. It couldn't be. Because that was 10,000 years ago.
He opens his door and walks over to his little closet he had. He searches through the contents, finally finding what he was looking for. He pulls the book out, smiling at seeing it again. He hadn't had a chance to read it since all this Galra fighting happened. He walks over to Allura and hands the book to her. "This is it. I haven't had a chance to read it in a while so please be careful with it. It's also torn as you can see." He points to a piece that was falling off. The cover was like it had been burned halfway off. The pages had been taped together with care. Lance had stayed up every night to fix the little pieces that would fall out. Or might fall out. He hadn't touched it in a while so it was a bit dusty.
Allura blows the dust off, sending specks of dust flying. She opened the book carefully, looking behind the cover. She spotted something but couldn't make it out. "Coran, can you read this?" She points to the spot she couldn't read.
Coran gets his glasses out and squints. He takes them off. "I'm sorry, princess. I can't read it either. But I do know a way how."
Allura perks up. "Really, Coran? We're gonna get that out? Yay!"
Coran smiles. "Yes, now come along, everyone. Let's go see what this here book hides."
Lance was confused. "It doesn't hide anything. I already know what it says...I think." He scratches his head, a concentrated look on his face.
"Then what does it say, Lance?" Allura asks him, intrigued he'd be able to know what it said.
"Uh-um, gah. Dang, I just had it. It was weird. It was like the book was telling me what it said. Or it was like someone spoke in my head and told me. But I can't remember who. It was...a little girl's voice. But I don't know who."
"You know, I got Lance a book. It was just like this one except newer. I had gotten it for him on his 2nd-3rd birthday. He was eager to read and since, he wanted to know where his name came from, I had bought this and gave it to him saying,"Happy birthday, Lancey. I got you this book because it has your name in it. Mom and dad said that they named you Lancelot because of a knight in this book. He was a really good knight. You can be a knight like him too. But I rather you be Lance instead." I was the only one who was allowed to call him that. He didn't like it when other people called him it. He said,"You're my sister, 'lura. And since I can call you 'lura then you can call me Lancey. And besides, I love you. You love me too, right?" And I said,"Of course." And hugged him. He'd always say that when he was asked why other people wasn't allowed to call him that."
Pidge awes. "That is adorable!" She squeals. "It's like Keithy but Lancey instead. Oh! Ideas." Then she starts writing in her novel again.
Keith glares at Lance. "Why did you call me that? Now Pidge is gonna call me that to annoy me."
Lance sticks his tongue out at him. "Because I did. And like Pidge said, It's adorable."
Keith says, irritated,"J-just don't call me that." He turns his head away.
"But Keithy~ It's cute~"
"No, it's not!"
"Is too!"
"Is not!"
"Is too! Is too! Is too!!"
"Fine, but I get to call you Lancey then." Keith actually sticks his tongue out at Lance.
"No! You are not allowed to call me Lancey! No one is except-!..."
"Who?" Keith raises a brow.
"I..I don't know. Now I'm confused!"
"Could you try to remember who, Lance?" Allura asks him.
"Um, okay. Fine, I'll try to." He walks over and plops down on his bed, thinking.
"Don't blow a fuse, Lancey~" Pidge jokes, strolling over to sit in one of his beanbag chairs.
"Shush, Pidge! I'm thinking. And don't call me Lancey. And Keithy, no smart-a comments."
"I said don't call me keithy!"
"Oh shush, kitty."
"K-kitty?" He blinks.
"Yeah, you're like a cat. Feisty, really feisty, and can possibly claw someone's eyes out. Also you can be cute when you want to be or without knowing. Now shush."
Pidge squeals. "AHHHHHHHH-vgfyhjbvfgtyujvcftyujnhbg" She grasps her chest. "I'm dying of le Klance! AHH-"
"Pidge, shush! AND WHAT IS KLANCE" Lance's eyebrows twitch.
She chokes out. "But you*hack* called Keith cute!" She wheezes out. "You don't need to know yet." She dies. The End.
"What are you talking about? I never said anything."
Now Pidge was confused. "Yes, you did."
Coran twirls his mustache. "Actually, he thought that. He never actually said it."
"Wait so he basically voiced his thought kinda?"
"I guess kinda like that, yeah. Must be another Altean power he has. Interesting..."
"What is so interesting?"
"Well, Lance had that ability also. He could also read thoughts but I don't know about Our Lance here."
"Pidge, stop screaming!"
"But I'm not.."
"Then how come you are so loud in my head? PIpe DowN!"
"I guess that answers your question, Coran. Wait, hang on. Okay, what am I thinking about now?"
"You are constantly thinking about Klance! There, now do I get a cookie?"
"Everyone, Lance is trying to remember. Let's not distract him." Allura says.
"Oops, my bad." Pidge says, apologetic.
"ThAnk YoU! Wait, Keith, stop thinking. I'm gonna go nuts with all your freaking out. Oh, I see. Gay panic. Nice." He opens his eyes. "Wait.."
Keith's eyes widen, bigger than saucers. "Um yeah, sure." He whistles like nothing to see here folks.
"WaIt, Keith's gay?! YES!" Pidge screams, jumping up and down and squealing.
Shiro sighs. He gets his all-proud-big-brother-face-on. "Yup, he got it from me."
"Shiro's gay too?! YES" pidge is basically jumping off the walls.
"ShiRO! WHy you betray me like this?!" Keith shrieks at Shiro, looking betrayed.
Shiro just smirks. "Payback, b." He pops on his shades.
