It was a miracle for Aurora to believe that she could continue another 12 hours of slumber after the already length-satisfying one. It was a miracle for the couple as well, to believe that the maiden would wake up so much earlier than the doctor’s prediction. Around her bed, the Von Bach members were greeting their new guest a warm welcome.
“Fine, here's my surprise guest. How are you feeling, my dear?” Fraulein Helen was being as much as herself, all sweet and passionate in speech. Kind, yes, you might say so but it wouldn’t truly be until that person proved her that he or she worthed her kindness.
“Madame, I'm well, thank you. It's been a pleasure to enjoy your hospitality,” replied the princess.
“What a rare young maiden with politeness!” The General was very pleased with the attitude of Aurora, concerning how young ladies behaved less a lady in those days.
Seeing how the new guest had been suiting herself in the new environment, Fraulein Helen felt more comfortable to tell her what the doctor had said. It happened that the doctor gave another inspection in the late hour, concerning the report from the Von Bach household of the waking up of Fraulein Aurora. The doctor was so assured of his previous prediction that wouldn’t allow any miracle to happen. But facing one at that moment was something that really shocked him and could only comment as a work of God.
“The doctor said that it is a miracle and something that is medically unanswerable. But concerning your memory loss, he believes that you might encounter something quite vulgar that get your head hit and caused a temporary memory loss. You will soon remember and it’s just a matter of time.” Fraulein Helen informed without forgetting to put a smile on her face to soften her nerve and made her feel welcome.
“Fraulein Aurora, you are more than welcome to take this place as your rest and shelter during your recovery. It is a Von Bach member who discovered and saved you at the first place. So, please let us do the honour to finish this blessing deed.” General Friedrich suggested with a selfish, yet, an innocent reason behind this generous offer. He found the maiden very unique with a charm that he could hardly resist. She would be a wonderful friend, as he could tell, and far better, a wonderful daughter in law. Or, a sister in law, if you put the bloodline matter very seriously.
“Thank you, papa!” Hubert thought he had to beg for this arrangement and couldn’t believe that it could be done with such ease.
Princess Aurora remembered very well the tale of Maleficent. This was very well known in the Fantastical Realm as a fable to young children to warn them never ever step their foot in the Realistic Realm.
Fear gave ways for her to hide her real identity. She knew it very sure that she had neither a memory loss nor a miracle. Though her mind was still fogged with the questions as to how and why she was in the realistic realm, she held firm the fact that her curse was undone and chose to give thank to the Superior for such bliss.
Yet, the chosen prince didn’t behave like the way romantically predicted by Nanny Flora, but she was so overwhelmed with the fact that she was free from the curse!
“Thank you for the kind hospitality. There is no way I can possibly pay you back.” Aurora replied with a casual royal gesture to show her deep appreciation.
“Oh no! Of course, there’s a way for you to pay us back!” Hubert suddenly commented and rejected the traditional reply as “Of course, you are welcome”.
“My, really? How? Would you be so kind to tell me?” Obviously, Aurora felt quite abrupted with his unconventional reply and quite haunted at thoughts to work for humans in the Realistic Realm while bearing a noble identity as a Princess.
“I would be, m’lady. Your smile is the payment we shall ask for.” He beamed archly in a way meant no harm but rather his presentation of a character so uniquely he owned.
“Good heaven! Berty, please stop teasing our guest.” Fraulein Helen shoved at his back after seeing how Aurora was shocked at his words.
Hubert caught a glimpse at Aurora after the sound of “Berty” landed in the air, wanting to see the expression on her face. Until the word shattered at the floor, yet, her countenance showed no acquaintance with the word, not even a slight giggle appeared on her face.
“You know, you used to call me Berty.” Recalled Hubert, with his hope forcefully hammered on her and ignored the fact that she had “lost” her memory.
“Berty,” replied Aurora awkwardly, “What a delightful nickname!”
Hubert was not sure whether he liked the new Aurora or not, but he hoped that she was the one. She should be the one. Because she had the necklace. At least this was his comforting thought.
However, the couple found themselves very sure that they liked this Fraulein Aurora. As an orphan as they might have heard of her, she had no common likeness with poverty but rather with a refined air, like a fresh rose. And very profoundly, this exquisite air she possessed was not considered to be a counterfeit. It was as if she inhaled delicacy and exhaled elegancy.
Almost three days had passed and Aurora was finally granted the permission to get off her bed and enjoyed a tour around her new accommodation. Fraulein Helen set rules if you wonder who would be so reasonless to hold a recovering person from having her walk around the hall. She was worried about her health. As miraculous as it seemed, it made Fraulein Helen more protective to cherish her recovery with extreme measures.
The house, you must be aware, that it was more than splendid for commoners. But it was a mere all right for a royal, especially a royal with the “bluest blood” as Aurora. The house was not too bad and not too overwhelmed, it was fine.
“So, how’s the environment. Do you find it comfortable for your staying, Fraulein Aurora?”
Her thought was one matter and her reply was another matter. One should forever be implicit for one’s politeness. In this case, humility was her veil before her reply to Fraulein Helen.
“Very wonderful indeed. And how kind it is for you to keep me, thank you.”
Another sentence from her mouth that captured favour of one of the heads in the Von Bach household.
“How sweet your lips are, my child. You may stay as long as you want and we are always welcome.”
Perhaps in the Realistic Realm, the words of Maleficent shall even stand as firm as it was in the Fantastical Realm, “The Princess shall grow as fine and elegant as a fresh rose. She shall be adored by many and loved by many.”
And this thought, undoubtedly, had brought quite a discomfort for my faithful readers. But take heart and wait till the end, for there is still hope in the worlds, both realistic and fantastical.
