Before you begin reading this book, I would like to point out a few things so that you won't be confused by its layouts:

There are two stories being played in this novel: The "flashback" and the present:

"Flashbacks" = I label them in quotations to say that technically it is part of the entire series and they are still important when it's nearing the end of the series. For people who don't enjoy the flashbacks and would rather go with the main story, this is skippable. All "flashback" chapters are of odd numbers(like the first chapter).

Present/Main story = This is the main story and plot of the story. These are all in chapters of even numbers(starting from the second chapter).

You can choose to start reading all the flashbacks first(and yes, they are all chronological), then start reading the present day, OR do the main story first and then read the "flashbacks."

While this is simply just a little guide on how you can control what you want to read, I do advice reading it all by order, as the "flashbacks" do serve a strong purpose on the main story.
