It was a split second after he said those words that I yearned to have left with him. Gus was gone and we were alone. The energy in the room was completely off. I could tell Liam wanted to bite my head off and who could blame him? I sat still and watched him for a while before I gathered the courage to approach.
"Let me," I whispered, reaching out to help him get up. I was prepared for him to swat my hands away, but he let me lead him into the chair. "I'm really sorry Liam."
"Instead of being sorry all the time, freaking listen at least once in a while so that I may live the rest of my miserable existence in peace," he spat.
"I get that you're upset," I spoke up. "Actually livid with me, but we need to get you some damn clothes before you bleed all over the floor. I am still stunned that you actually have blood considering you're dead?! That's beside the point so, could you please, just this once and I'm begging you, forgive me so that we may move on to more important issues?"
"You'll have to earn it," he replied, finally looking me straight in the eye.
"I can work with that."
"Help me get back up," Liam said, stretching out his arm. "We need to see Sebastian."
"What was the point of sitting down in the first place?" I murmured.
"Strike one," he said, turning to face me as I swung his arm over my shoulder. "You have two left so watch it, Lolita."
He had to be serious since he'd called me by my full name. Goodness, I'd gotten on his bad side too soon!
It took more effort than I'd thought to support Liam all the way to Sebastian's. What puzzled me most was that we couldn't simply have closets to hang our clothes or at least Sebastian should have some sort of delivery service? I bet you're wondering the same thing too, right?
"It's not the same as the earth you weirdo," Liam said, cutting into my train of thoughts.
His response made me stop dead in my tracks. It wasn't the first time he'd read my mind. Was there something I was missing?
"Can you read my mind?" I blurted.
"I wish I could, believe it or not," he replied, "It could save me from a whole lot of trouble."
"Then how-"
"Luck I guess," Liam said. "We're here." When we walked in, the look on Sebastian's face certified the horrid state he was in.
"What in God's name happened to you?" He asked, approaching us and helping him fall into the couch by the entrance.
"Nothing I couldn't handle," Liam replied, breathing heavily.
"With the state that you're in, I call bullshit!"
"I'll be fine Sebastian. We came to get some new clothes."
"I fear to give you any of my babies if that's how you treat them," Sebastian gasped.
"Stop being overdramatic, will you?" Liam replied. "I'm getting cold here."
I followed Sebastian and picked out a couple of clothes for Liam. Since he was in bad shape, his suits were no good. We decided to experiment with some casual outfits to see how he'd look like and to make him comfortable, at the least.
"What. Are. Those?" He exclaimed once I walked in carrying track pants, a couple of t-shirts and jumpers.
"Your wardrobe for the next few days until you heal," I replied.
"Says who?" He scoffed.
"Says me," Sebastian added, walking in with a pair of black Converse. "You're not going to ruin my suits with all those wounds. It's time to get comfortable."
"You've got to be kidding me!"
"Oh, I kid you not my ol' friend," Sebastian said, confidently. "Now, would you like my help or should I let the little Miss here handle that?"
"I'll manage," he said flushing. He struggled to get up and finally made it.
"You sure about that?" Sebastian pressed. "There's no shame in asking for help, you clearly need it."
"I said I'll manage!" Liam said, through his teeth. I hang the clothes in the dresser for him and took a seat beside Sebastian.
"He's actually gotten better since you came along," Sebastian said.
"I've been here for a couple of days," I replied, laughing.
"I know," he said. "And he has changed drastically. He's happier somehow. I can see it in his eyes."
He was joking, right?
Right then, Liam walked out, dropped his soiled clothes to the floor, and headed towards us.
"You look-"
Unbelievably hot!
"Not another word Sebastian," Liam interjected. "Lola, we need to leave."
"Don't let him scare you," Sebastian whispered before I stood up.
"Too late," I replied. "I'll see you around."
"Lola-"
"Coming!" Chill out, will you?
"You're welcome!" Sebastian called out as we wobbled down the hall.
"You should be a tad bit nicer to him," I said, taking his arm. "He's really nice to you. To us."
"I know and I was being nice," Liam replied. "It's about time you and I got on the same page."
"Meaning?"
"We should trust each other more and know who else we can trust. Plan B, like Gus, said."
