Baldwin took out his axe to take one of the smaller crystals of the cave with him. He needed to show his father, Elsdon, the leader of The Northwind Elf Community, what these crystals have in store and how this could change everything for the elves in Eviona. After awhile, Baldwin had one of the smaller crystals in his hands. Surprisingly, the crystal didn’t lose the fairy energy. He put it in his bag, went outside the cave and hopped on his horse.
To Northwind!
Baldwin stood in front of his father who sat on something that looked awfully close to a throne. They were in this all dark room, a throne room. The curtains were closed. There was only one painting hanged up on the wall that gave the room some sort of life. It was a portrait of Baldwin's mother, he never knew her. “What are you suggesting, my son?” asked Elsdon. The elf with long grey hair looked uninterested. He had a some sort of crown in shape of a tornado on his head. He wore a long black coat that covered most of his body. “Father, I say, we take the crystals for our own. The fairies have lied to us with their secrets! They want to keep us dumb and unpowered!” Baldwin did adjust the truth a little bit to make his father hate the fairies like he does. “That doesn't seem like a thing that the fairies would do, Baldwin.” He was well aware of his son and his plans. Ever since Baldwin didn't get his link, he had noticed how his son had changed.
Of course, you won’t believe me, dad.
“Father, they have been manipulating all of us to use these crystals for themselves. You can read it all here!” Baldwin showed the ancient script-rolls.
You can’t read it, you won’t know the truth. Haha.
"Bishop, can you read this?” A very old elf came out the shadows. He walked towards Baldwin and took the script-rolls out of his hands. Baldwin became nervous. He had forgotten about Bishop. “Hmm.” he said. “Fairy language. Where did you learn that, Baldwin?” asked Bishop curiously.
From the fairy I have kind of kidnapped.
“It took me forever to understand the language but I managed to do so, Bishop.” said Baldwin with confidence. Both Elsdon as Bishop didn’t trust his words. “Don’t you want to more power, dad?” he smiled evil. Elsdon was insulted. “Baldwin, you don’t speak to me like that. You have been accusing the fairies long enough. But this is madness! Once Bishop figures out what these script-rolls are about and we figure out that you have been lying AGAIN, we will be done with you.”
Madness is that you won’t ever help me get what I want, dad.
“Fine.” Baldwin walked out the room. “What will my son become, Bishop?” he sighed. “Only time will tell, Sir.” said Bishop while he was studying the script-rolls.
It was evening in Northwind when Baldwin had gathered a group of elf-soldiers. The Northwind elf-soldiers were very well trained with their powers to serve Northwind in the best way possible. However, their loyalty to Elsdon wasn’t as strong as their loyalty to Baldwin since most elf-soldiers grew up with Baldwin.
The elf-soldiers were sitting at a table listening to him. “It pains me but my father, your leader, can’t see things straight anymore. He is so sure about the fairies being good that it has made him blind.” he started. “The fairies have these crystals they want to use for themselves. Not for Eviona. We can’t let that happen. We must protect Eviona from them!” He had manipulated the elves in no time. All of them agreed to Baldwin’s plan. “At midnight, we take over the castle.” he said.
Elsdon was sleeping in his bedroom while Baldwin’s soldiers had taken out most of the guards who were on to them. Baldwin himself killed the guards at Elsdon’s bedroom. Elsdon had heard it happen. He took out his sword and stood behind the door ready for whoever was entering. Baldwin walked in slowly, holding his sword up, ready to kill. He passed Elsdon without knowing it.
My son..
He was sad to see that it was his own son trying to murder him as Baldwin stabbed his sword through the sheets. He was surprised to see that his father wasn't in his bed. Elsdon dropped his sword on the ground which made Baldwin turn around. “Baldwin. I’ll not fight my own son. Stop this.” he said fearless. Baldwin walked towards his father. He threw his sword on the ground. “You are right....” Elsdon was surprised by his reaction. Would Baldwin finally come to sense? “Son, I knew you would come-” Baldwin stabbed Elsdon in his heart with the knife he had hidden in his right sleeve. “I had to stop this indeed, father.” Elsdon fell on the ground. He was bleeding a lot in no time. “Baldwin…” he said one last time before closing his eyes. Baldwin didn’t even look at him. The elf-soldiers had brought the fairy to Elsdon’s bedroom. “Baldwin, what have you done?” she asked with a shocking look on her face as she saw Elsdon dead. He walked towards her and stroke her hair. “No sweetie, what have you done?” Before she could ask anything, Baldwin had stabbed her too. “Throw my father out the window.” he said while cleaning his hands to get rid of all the blood. “Why...are you..doing this..I thought..” said the fairy while she was bleeding to death. “Sorry love, you were just a pawn in my game.”
The next day..
Baldwin stood on the balcony of the castle. He was giving a speech to his elves. Now Baldwin is the leader of the Northwind Elf Community. Nobody could stop him for doing what he wanted to do, kill all fairies in Eviona. “My father..has been murdered by the fairies.” he said with tears in his eyes.
Happy tears, you fools.
“He had found out the truth about these monsters we called our friends.” The Northwind elves looked angry. They were ready to avenge their former leader. “They have crystals, powerful crystals, that are a danger in their hands. They killed my father for knowing the truth about the crystals. What will they do next?!” - “MURDERERS! THEY ARE!” - “THE FAIRIES NEED TO BE STOPPED!” - “MY KING, WE MUST KILL THEM!” yelled the crowd in rage. “Is it not my job as the King of Northwind to stop these devils?” The elves cheered on Baldwin. He enjoyed every second of it. “WAR! WAR! WAR!” they kept yelling to him. Baldwin put up his hand. The elves stopped yelling. “Get your weapons ready! We are going on a fairy hunt!” he said with the most evilest look in his face.
