(A) and (B) have succeeded in having their seedling child and had the time of their lives learning about humanity as they nurtured the growth of Humany. It was lucky that their child, Humany grew up quickly due to the abundance in sunlight and plumbing available on earth, he breathed in the polluted air and breathed out oxygen as a plant does, clearing up the air in the area. The plant aliens were able to grow fake money that looked and smelled like the real thing in order to pay for rent on their apartment. Later on they realized how bad it was for the economy and that just making more money will decrease the value of money causing material goods to become more difficult for others to buy. Due to plumbing, The plant aliens enjoyed consuming all the tap water they needed until (B) got sick from the fluoride that was present in the tap water then they decided to invest in a water purifier. As Humany grew faster and faster, The plant aliens decided it was time to educate the child quickly by sending information through with their minds but it quickly drained Humany’s parents of their life energy over time. (B) realized that they and (A) will soon only have 7 more days to live. They beckoned (A) to the bedroom and grabbed them by the shoulders. “(A) My love, we may not have much time left! My one regret is that we may not be able to watch Humany reach their peak of maturity. I’m scared, I don’t want to return to the soil yet and even though I have studied our kind for so long, there’s no cure for death!” (B) Placed their hands on (A)’s and shushed: “We still have seven more days left! And I thought I was the pessimistic one. There only reason to panic is if we don’t spend enough time with Humany.”
On the seventh day, (A) leaves the apartment room and heads out to the courtyard at 5 in the morning and heads towards an empty flower bed. Humany notices (A)’s absence and follows behind, confused, but unsuspecting. The green haired child with pale skin and thin, flexible frame like a vine, glides down the apartment complex staircase and hops off at the end and opens the back door and starts to run towards (A). Then suddenly, (B) grabs Humany’s arm from behind and turned them around and finally told them: “Dear child, listen to me! (A) and I are dying! Today is the day we could no longer walk the earth in our humanoid forms. We were lucky to have abundance of light to help us process the air pollutants we take in as food but the humans have heavily poisoned the water and soil to the point that it poisons us too. Do not worry, seedling, but we will return to the earth in the forms of plants but we will not truly die. We may lose our consciousness but we will still be here for you. What is that sad look on your face? Don’t be sad, precious child, you have so much potential, so much to look forward to! “ (B) walks towards (A) at the empty flower beds and they embrace as they look forwards to Humany and smiles. Saying their final goodbyes to Humany, their arms start to intertwine and their bodies start to unravel into green fibrous vines as they fall and merge together to transform into bush foliage with light, purplish colored rosebuds. A lavender rose bush was their final form, a form of love.
Humany for the first time felt a deep tugging pain inside their chest. It was a strange pain that in their emerald green eyes feel irritated and tear up. Humany’s body tenses up as their lungs struggle to breathe a little bit. Their jaws clenched and for the first time, a whimper and then vocal sounds started to well up from their throat: “Uuuwahhh..uuu..”followed by sudden hiccups. Their body trembles as they finally realized what this feeling of emotion was. For the first time Humany experiences grief, but not any kind of grief. It was grief after losing loved ones. The loved ones Humany cries for was the couple, his kind and loving parents.
A mid-twenty year old woman just exited from the apartment building and notices a thin kid with green hair crying. She walks closer and then stopped to ask, “What seems to be the problem boy? Did you fall and get hurt? Or did you get locked out the apartment room you and your parents are living in?” The kind woman smiled and gave Humany a warm, comforting hug. “Don’t worry boy, i’ll get you some warm milk and you could tell me after you calm down, then later i’ll unlock the door. By the way, may I know what your name is? My name is Veronica Owens but you can call me Aunty Vern. My wife is currently out at work. Her name is Anri Holland but you can call her Aunty Holl. Whenever you need us, we’ll be in room 224-c, just give us a holler.” Touched by the landlord’s kindness, Humany thanks her using words for the first time. “Thank..you Aunty Vern, my name is Humany Sprout and my parents turned into rose lavender bush.”
