We lay their for what seems to be an eternity, just the two of us in our own world. As if nothing can separate us after all these years of being apart and feeling empty. The feeling of fatigue and pain finally catch up with me but i refuse to give in,I have not felt this level of closure in such a long a time, the feeling is foreign to me.I never want this warm feeling leave ever again.Peridot's warmth dreads over me like a waterfall,to the point where I never want to let go of her again.I feel a warm liquid make it's way down my neck with the faint growing sound of Peridot crying into my shoulder.I hug her not knowing of what has happened to her after all these years.I feel a rush of cold air but I only dismiss to be the outside world trying to creep into our own.
When Peridot starts to calm down she pulls away turning towards the source of the cold rush. It's pouring outside and i can just barely see the remnants of what seems to be a trail, probably the same trail peridot took in order to bring me here. She stands up and walks over to the old oak door, she stands their for a moment, just staring into the forest. I try to ask her if she's okay or not.
She stands their for another few minutes before sighing and shutting the door.
"Is everything okay,Peridot?"y-yeah I-i.. It's nothing..."
"okay if you say so. Though,I have to ask. Why did you save me? I mean we haven't seen each other in eight years. Why did you help me?"
Peridot looks over at the window
"I honestly didn't care if we haven't seen each other in such a long time, I care about you and that's all that I needed to know when I saw you hurt. Speaking of which you need rest."
Peridot immediately holds me up from where I had been sitting for the past who knows how long, and She sits me into the old creaky bed as she helps me to fall asleep.
"you know I could have just gotten up myself, right?"
"Uh huh just like how you could get up get you bag by yourself?"
Peridot looks over at me with the most obnoxious sly grin
"argh, okay okay! Maybe I do still need some help getting around."
"yeah, well night Princess....i...i-i'll bring you home tomorrow evening."Peridot's voice shakes as she lights a flame that now flickers within the old withered lamp,Before closing the door she glances over at me. A sense of dread seems to fill Her eyes as she watches me drift into slumber.
