"I have no clue. Nothing is making sense to me right now, I guess, and what happened was so weird I refuse to believe any of it. But then again, if I don't believe it, I have no idea how to explain it, but I just don't get any of it, like, at all," Cian rambled. Silas reached up to put a hand over his mouth.
"Just explain exactly what happened after I blacked out," Silas ordered, "Slowly."
"Uh, okay," Cian said as Silas pulled his hand back. The shorter man took a deep breath, his eyes bewildered as he was searching for a way to explain the events that had occurred. "I'll go for the basics then,"
"Okay,"
"You told me to think of something positive, right?"
"Yeah,"
"And... I thought of the pancakes you made us. And grass. And sunshine. All the things that were really easy for me to remember. And then I kind of freaked, because you were gonna get eaten or something, and I imagined that light you were talking about, but then things just kinda - stopped?"
"Stopped? Like mid-air? Really?"
"Yeah, and then everything just got like really bright and blue, and it was too much, and I thought I was gonna go completely blind, you know?"
Silas was just staring up at Cian, looking a bit dumbstruck, but at the same time it looked like his mind was working to solve some advanced equation. He opened his mouth a couple times and narrowed his eyes.
"Wait, did the shadow just... disappear?"
"I- I think so, yeah," Cian replied. "After that I found you in a little pool of blood, freaked out again and wiped your face, and then moved you here onto the couch. You know the rest,"
Silas hummed a bit in contemplation, pursing his lips. Suddenly, a gurgling noise caught them both by surprise. Silas blushed a bit, but chuckled.
"I guess that means it's time to grab a bite, right?"
"Guess so," Cian chuckled along, amused at the cute little scene he had on display in front of himself. His grin fell into a small smile, but his brow furrowed in worry again. "I don't want to admit it, but I was really scared, Silas,"
"Yeah," Silas replied, holding his gaze for a few seconds before deciding to sit up. He put his arm around the shorter man's shoulder, and pulled him into a sideways hug. "I'm sorry all this is happening to you,"
"It's not your fault, kiddo," Cian assured.
"Well, we don't really know that for sure, though," Silas grunted.
"I was the one literally challenging God in the middle of a busy street,"
"I guess we know who's the fool, then,"
"You. Bleeding out on me," Cian huffed, a slightly amused tone to his voice.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm not dead. Nor are you," Silas pulled back and locked eyes with Cian.
"That's true," Cian reluctantly replied.
"Exactly." Silas' belly gave another little roar, and the two men shook their heads.
"How about some cheeseburgers?" The blue-eyed man suggested ruffling the curly, black hair of the boy, before standing up and offering a hand after bowing, as if asking Silas to do a waltz with him.
"I would die for some cheeseburgers right about now." The green-eyed man grinned and took the other boy's hand, immediately looking up where the nearest burger joint was.
