Waif :: Ah, guests.
|Brindle_Fox244| We brought a Spire, like you asked.
Waif :: ?
|Brindle_Fox244| You said you would help us fulfill our quest, so long as we brought the Spire here.
Waif :: Did I?
Yes. |SevenAteEight|
Waif :: You must be mistaken.
No, I’m not. |SevenAteEight|
|Brindle_Fox244| Why are you trying to convince him? The objective is to talk to both a Spire and a Craven at the same time for a few minutes. As long as he’s talking, we have what we need.
Right. So they just needed to get Silver to butt into the conversation again. What got him involved before?
Ok. Silver, where did we find her? |SevenAteEight|
Silver :: I’m a male, thank you very much.
Right on cue. So, basically, he could do that over and over again if he needed to bring Silver back into the conversation. Hooray for NPCs’ preprogrammed responses.
|KngWutsHisFace_th_3rd| Ha, good idea!
|~Gold~Vein~| Well, now we know what makes that Spire tick.
|MrCr0cod1le| Hey, Waif, are you a boy or a girl?
Waif :: I’m Waif.
|MrCr0cod1le| I know, I just said that. I was just asking if you want us to call you ‘he’ or ‘she’.
|KngWutsHisFace_th_3rd| Doesn’t look like he wants to tell you.
Waif, where did we find him? |SevenAteEight|
Waif :: Here.
|Brindle_Fox244| So, either he’s male or he wasn’t programmed to respond like Silver does.
Hard to know for sure, but surely they weren’t going to discuss that the whole time? And technically NPCs were just pixels and coding anyway, so really they were all genderless.
Waif, what do you think of Silver? |SevenAteEight|
Waif looked over to where Silver sat with his long tail wrapped around his legs. The Craven chuckled sinisterly before replying.
Waif :: Ugly, stupid, long tailed fluffball.
|~Gold~Vein~| Lol. Silver, what do you think of Waif?
Silver :: Cravens exist solely to cause trouble and turmoil. They unwind the very fabric of the world, and Spires exist to wind everything back together. Everything would be just fine without Cravens around.
|KngWutsHisFace_th_3rd| Wow. Waif said what he said, but Silver actually sounds a lot smarter.
Hm, yeah, kinda like how Mr. Crocodile treated him and Brindle as problematic and selfish even though Mr. Crocodile was the one that exemplified those traits. And, unfortunately, he and Brindle were stuck dealing with all that.
A frustrated snarl came through his headphones, and Waif shook his head.
Waif :: So, so noisy. Maybe some of you will go away if I ignore you.
The dark animal started backing into that hole again. He was still visible, but he started curling up like he was going to sleep again.
|MrCr0cod1le| Hey, we aren’t done with you yet!
No response.
Waif, what do you think of Silver? |SevenAteEight|
One of the creature’s ears tilted their way, but that was it.
|MrCr0cod1le| Well, what now?
The chat stayed still for several moments. Was there a time limit on this quest? There wasn’t an official one that was given to them, but if one of the NPCs stayed quiet for several minutes, would it reset the conversation and make them start all over?
|Brindle_Fox244| Alright guys, clear out. I have a plan to make him cooperate, but we need to get out of this briar patch.
