Lake Breeze, the name of the place that, unfortunately, I will Be spending the next 2 months. Honestly, I could have just went and gotten any old job, but the reason I chose this one was because it came with accommodations and food. Why bother paying rent and buying food when I can get both, AND GET PAID FOR IT.
Last night I packed all my stuff into the car, and today I set off on the long drive to Lake Breeze. It was so early in the morning, the street lights illuminating the cool dark road. Barely awake, I stumble into my Jeep, nearly spilling my coffee all over the dashboard. This is the first time I have driven for a long distance. I am only 17, after all.
What a good way to start the day.
...
A few slightly dangerous hours of driving later.
...
It feels like I’ve been driving for hours...
“IN 200 METERS TURN RIGHT”
I have never been happier to hear Siri yell directions to me...
I turn onto a rough dirt road, and I...
I see it...
*The jeep screeches to a halt*
The most beautiful sight I have ever beheld. A break in the tree line reveals a bright cyan lake, with shimmering silver waves.
It’s incredible.
It's so amazi-
“HEY, GET OUT OF THE WAY!”

...
I feel a sinking feeling in my chest, like the first day of high school. So many new people, so much anxiety. I didn’t think that this would be a problem, I’ve worked other part-time jobs, but never have I felt like this. I park as far away from the crowd as possible, I need to go register, but my feet feel like bricks. I fall out of my seat and nonchalantly step toward the crowd. As I come closer, I can what appear to be 3 guys and 4 girls lounging around a picnic table. The sweltering summer sun beats down on me, sweat dripping from my face.
“Hey! What’s your name?”
I freeze, I look behind me. I come to the conclusion that this mountain of a man is talking to me.
I clear my throat, “My na-mes Itsuki”.
The giant gets up from the table, his shadow drapes over me...
“Cool!”, he extends his hand toward me, “My names Evan!”
