If you haven't figured it out yet, I am pretty much dead and living the rest of eternity in the Spirit World. Of course, you don't have to believe any of this, it's all talk and the work of fiction of some weird author who controls what goes on in each chapter, but at least I have something to look forward to each day, as long as she keeps writing that is...
Liam took a while to 'heal' so we spent quite some time together; bonding, playing card games, chatting, and eating ice-cream. Okay, all that is pure bullcrap so this is part of what actually took place during his sick leave.
"From the top of your head, who do you think we should trust around here?" Liam asked, eyeing me cautiously. We were sitting facing each other in our cocoon.
"Is this some sort of test?" I asked, shifting in my seat.
"Maybe," he replied, flatly.
"Jade..." I started.
"Why?" He interrupted before I could continue.
"From what I gathered at The Blind Tokebi, he looks up to you in a way that he would lie at any moment he needs to in order to save you and quite easily at that," I replied. "And he's not a fan of Samantha so I'm rooting for him," I added, smiling.
"Hmmm."
"The last two I think we should obviously trust are Gus and Sebastian though, I'm not quite certain about Gus..."
"What makes you say that?"
"Well, he actually loves Samantha," I replied. "And she is quite a handful considering your state..."
"What?" Liam asked, puzzled. "Why would you say he loves her?"
"You're joking right?" I shot back. "You're like brothers and you have no idea that he loves Sam?"
"I do know he sort of fancies her, but not actually to that extent," Liam said. "Oh, crap!"
"What?"
"I let her kiss me all those times..."
"And you enjoyed every slobbery bit of it," I shot back.
"What! NO," Liam said, flinching. "You have no idea what's going on."
"Oh, I know everything. Gus filled me in pretty well," I said, confidently. "Do you like her, Liam? Have you also fallen for the queen of the underworld?"
"Stop that," He said, sternly.
"I'm not doing anything," I replied. "So, do you like her?"
"No, I don't."
"Well then, you should stop showing interest in her then," I replied, leaning in towards him. "You're breaking Gus' heart. He trusts you more than he should."
"What do you know about living here? You know nothing of the madness that runs through this word. Of loneliness. It's like a disease. It creeps up on you and the smallest window of affection you get, you reach and fight for more of it," Liam said.
"But you don't like her. Gus loves her. So butt out, unless you're lying of course and you want her for yourself. The upside of all of that is, you'd be the power couple everyone needs," I replied, dryly.
I'd rather be lonely, than roll in bed with that snake of a queen! What in hades name did she do to make him not see her maliciousness?!
"You are sounding extremely jealous at the moment," Liam scoffed. "I love the way your voice cracked, but worry not Lola, she's not my type at all, lonely or not."
"Well, you have me, so stop staying you're lonely," I replied, winking.
"I told you to stop doing that," He said, calmly.
"Doing what...this?" I asked, winking again and he looked away. "You do have me though, for eternity."
"Do I?"
