"Ezio, you sneaky bastard, so you were the order's fuck boy already?"
"What is it, dear Hatria? I feel inquietude in your voice".
"Well, look at you, you look more happy than the main subject himself".
"Indeed, why wouldn't I be in such emotive state? This is technically the best thing that has happened in my life".
"Technically... huh".
"Yes... uh, leaving this topic aside, I have to tell you something later, after this celebration Hatria, it's pretty urgent".
"Doesn't matter, everything it's always urgent with you".
"But this time, you'll agree with me that we need to take immediate action... the war hasn't ended yet".
"alright then, can you bring Cyr-I mean the king with you? If you don't treat him like a kid anymore, then tell him about what kind of mud he's getting his feet into. Ezio please, we don't have any time left".
Ezio smiled.
You could hear everyone in the hall laughing and filling their stomachs until they threw up and went back to fill their mouths with more food.
You could hear everyone laughing... and still hear the sound of a smooth cracking.
"You're right, we can't afford to waste more time".
Hatria, annoyed, grabbed his shoulder:
"Don't forget that you started this... stop running away".
"hmm, I wonder about that". He shoved her hand. "Shall we dance?"
She: left her hand exposed. He: saw an opening.
He had shoved that delicate hand, but for a gentleman, it's a rule to never let a blond beauty alone. She left her whole being exposed.
Everyone was enjoying themselves, even the "order", was calmly enjoying their food with too much passion.
The music was splendid, the hall was splendid, the women were splendid, then, why? what was it that the king himself didn't like?
He was uneasy, restless, even when dancing with the ladies of the court he wouldn't take away his eyes from the main gates. He wouldn't stop feeling sick.
"Excuse me, sir, but you wouldn't stop looking at the front gates all this time... is something the matter? Or are you just being paranoid?"
"Well, you see, I didn't expect them to accept me this quickly, everything feels so unreal, and... umm, I have this weird sensation that something bad is going to happen anytime soon, I... I don't know, maybe I'm just talking trash, who knows, but it really, seriously feels as if the castle is going down anytime, this quietness is making me go crazy".
"..."
"Evan... why did you come here?"
"Pardon me?"
"Why did you save me and now follow me around? Is this some sort of new test that Ezio invented for me? Come on... you can tell me now, I won't tell on you... I thought at first, that, maybe it was real, that maybe you would protect me seriously, and maybe you won't leave me behind, but, you know what? No one would accept something like that all of a sudden, that was just the shock of the moment...
see what I mean?
so tell me Evan, (if that's your name)...
WHY ARE YOU HERE?"
"My king, I..."
"Save it, I know, you probably know Ezio and he told you to make a great appearence so that I would be amazed, isn't that right?"
"Honestly... not at all, but I understand, I'm just a stranger and you don't trust me, I get it, so why don't you let me prove otherwise?"
"How?"
"I'm going outside to make you feel at ease, relax a little, would you? There's nothing to be afraid of... the people here came for you, don't disappoint them".
"I... I... well, that's enough just go..."
"Well then, I will go... outside".
Looking for a way out of the crowd, Evan went straight to the main gates. A stunning man, a foreigner looking guy, and the only one that was dressed as a regular villager. Evan had all the perfect looks to be gazed at... maybe a trustworthy and heartwarming person... but still a yet-to-know stranger to the new-borned king.
Careful kid! Stranger danger is a real deal!... words that seemed to match the irregular emotions of Cyrus.
"Hah... stupid Evan, you don't need to do that, I'm fine dammit".
Unexpectedly, a woman came close to Cyrus.
"Excuse me".
She had pretty scarlet long hair. And intense green eyes.
"Are you the famous young king?"
"huh?"
The woman felt familiar. That situation felt familiar. Her voice got deeper.
"You need to come with me right now".
"What are you saying? Who are you?"
She had a beautiful dress that went along with the color of her hair, and it allowed her to hide her boots.
"We don't have time, Cyrus, come now and ask later".
"Why...? I won't go any..."
The lights went down. A first loud scream of a lady was heard. Then another one, and another one, until the voice of the scarlet lady was inaudible.
"Lady... wha-what is happening?" He started shaking, his eyes opened more and more to see something he couldn't understand. "Please... where are we going... Evan... Ezio... Hatria". His voice was shaking, but his feet would not stop thanks to the woman.
"What did I just step on? Why am I smelling blood?". It sent a chill down his spine.
"That was definetely a head, let's keep moving".
"agh-wa... ahhh... mmm-auuahg", he did his best not to throw up or let go of her hand. For all he cared about, the priority was to reach a safe place, and the lady apparently knew the castle's hideaways... too well.
The two of them were running away from the chaos, no one saw that coming, Assassins in the castle, killing everyone without letting a soul escape. No mercy. No limit. But perhaps... someone noticed?
"Okay, kid, we're safe, for now... no, wait, DON'T... throw up here".
"I'm... sorry".
"Well, whatever, my name is Elissa, and yours is Cyrus, I know, nice to meet the kid I gotta protect".
"what are you... blaughhh"
"This is going to be a long day. You should have prepared for this... stupid Ezio".
