"Geez! Where did he go... That Zero?" Yuki muttered as she walked around the town looking for Zero as she had lost sight of him. She kept on walking around the town, and her heartbeat slowly fasten and she just had to fasten his pace as well as she did not like walking around the town alone. It just made her felt scared for some reason. So from walk turned to run and she suddenly hit someone on her way. "I-I'm sorry!" She bowed apologetically to them without even looking at them and ran away again. Unknown to her, it was someone she should not have met at all. She then came to a stop at the center of the town where there was a bench and she had to take a rest there. "This is lame... I thought I was over it already... But when I'm all alone..." She thought in her mind as she looked around. Her heartbeat poundedm and she recalled the bad memories she had. "I recall...That red." She thought, shuddering at the memory. As she hugged herself trying to comfort herself, and just like that something red flashed in front of her eyes. She followed it and saw a little boy was holding a red balloon before it got stuck at the tree. Yuki sighed before she stood up and help the kid to get the balloon back. "Here!" She handed him the balloon to the boy but he just ran away. So, in confusion, she chased after him.
Meanwhile, Zero was in a ramen shop and got a free extra from the owner for he looked depressed. He was about to eat it when he heard a scream. Knowing well the voice, he dropped his chopsticks and quickly ran off to the owner of the voice. Outside, Yuki was being chased by the little kid who turned out to be a vampire, and she had screamed due to being bitten. She was running away from the boy, when she met the other vampire, who turned out to be the girl she had bumped on before when she was running. She ran into a certain abandoned building and ran to the top floor. "What was that? A vampire....? No! After all... The vampires I know are all beautiful... and adored by everyone..." She thought in her mind as she remembered how the kid had looked scary compared all the other night class students. She shuddered again as her memory resurfaced. "Scared... I'm scared..." A voice within her said. "I adore them." She thought as a flash of Kaname showed up in her mind. "The vampire is going to eat me." The voice spoke again and she remembered how she was attacked by a vampire before and saved by Kaname. "No!" She grabbed her Artemis rod as her face was filled with determination despite how scared she was. She stood up and turned her back to the open glassless window, where outside there was the female vampire waited for her. But then, Zero came and the vampire turned to him and attacked him instead.
Zero's reflexed had saved him as he quickly kicked the vampire away, breaking one of the wooden door on one of the abandoned building. "So, you're reached the state where you even lost your human state, huh?" He commented as he took out his Bloody Rose. The vampire stood up again and ran after him. He readied his Bloody Rose but hesitated to kill it, not until when the vampire stopped right in front of him and said, "A com...rade...? A comrade." He frowned and clicked his tongue annoyed. "Shut up!" And he shot her down, leaving her to dusts. Then behind her, the little kid showed up. He suddenly remembered about something from the past and again hesitated to kill it. "Ichiru...?!" He called out. "Zero! Shoot it!" A voice suddenly shouted out to him as she just arrived at where they were. But Zero was too slow as the kid began laughing and head to the top of the building where Yuki was in. "Oh no!" A voice said again and Zero turned to find it was Scarlet. "Let's go! Yuki is inside!" She was about to ran to the building when a scream could be heard. She wasted no time ran to the building with Zero.
Inside, Yuki was holding her Artemis Rod out as the kid was crouching on top of it and he had managed to scratch her cheek. She swung her rod and the kid jumped away to the wheel that could move the bell, and so he moved it. The bell rang and rand loudly, making Yuki had to drop her Artemis Rod to close her ear from the deafening sound. The kid took that chance to jump back to Yuki to attack her. "Yu-" a small voice rang between the sounds of the bell and was easily dismissed. Yuki closed her eyes as she waited for the impact but there was none of it. She opened her eyes slowly and saw the child was frozen in his stead and was looking at where he came from so she turned her head and saw that Kaname was standing there. "Poor thing...lapsing into this state." He said as he walked to Yuki, making the little kid backed away. As soon as Kaname had reached Yuki, he hugged her from behind and closed her eyes. "K-Kaname-senpai...?" Yuki called out. "But... You... hurt someone very dear to me." His eyes flashed red and winds were flowing through the building. "Kaname-senpai..." Yuki called again as the wind died down. "It's all over." He said as he moved away from her. "That boy..." Yuki began. "Level E." Kaname simply answered. "Level E? Then he's not a vampire after all?" Yuki asked again somewhat she looked kind of relief but it did not last long as Kaname answered. "No, they're vampires too."
"B-but..." Yuki tried but was cut by Kaname. "What a naughty girl. Coming to such a dangerous place, all alone...and even get hurt too." He cleaned the blood on her cheek and was about to clean the one on her hand when Yuki pulled it away before it reached his lips. "Ah... I...was looking for Zero." She explained, not looking straight at him. "I see. He was back at the dorm already." He simply said but his eyes were looking elsewhere, the stairs where it lead to their floor. "I'll walk you back. The scent of your blood is too dangerous." He added.
Meanwhile, on the stairs, Zero was panting in exhaustion as he put his hand on his neck, while Scarlet was looking at him still with her emotionless face before she looked up as she heard Kaname spoke the last part. "It seems like they're leaving." Scarlet told Zero who was still trying to calm his thirst down. "You should leave too now." He turned to look at her. "It's alright. I know you won't attack me." She simply said not looking back at him. He frowned asking, "Why do you think so?" Scarlet shrugged. "Because I know you can still hold it on...for now." She added the last part in a lower voice but he could catch it clearly. "Since when have you known?" His frowned deepen as he stared, more like glared at her, but that really did not affect her. "From a long time ago." She simply answered again. "Come on, let's go home. Yuki will be looking for you." She held out her hand to him, which he looked before he took it. Scarlet helped him up before the two walked back home.

The night had fallen, and it was the time for the guardians to do their duty on patrolling around the Academy again. Scarlet had excused herself that day not to do any works as she was not feeling quite well, or so she lied. So, Yuki had walked to Zero's room after she was all ready to start the patrol. But she could not find him in his room, and thought that he might had left before her. So she had closed the door and headed out to do her duty. Meanwhile, Scarlet was walking on the opposite direction, to the Headmaster's office to report in when she heard someone else was in there.
"As expected of you, Kaname-kun. A vampire whose blood was not corrupted by even a single drop of a human blood. The one who's even feared among the other vampires. You're a vampire among a vampire, a pureblood. Nothing can deceive you at all." Kaien spoke from his seat. "Headmaster Cross, I trust you. That's why I have not interfered. But, you've only taken a few steps, and have treated Zero like a regular student." Kaname walked up to his desk and put his hand on it when his fingers broke his desk. "Do you intend to allow Zero to break your own ideals of peace?!" He asked frowning at him. Scarlet stood outside the room listening closely to it, even when she did not want to, but she could not help it, especially after what she was about to hear. "Kiryu-kun's family was killed by a vampire...and in that sea of blood, he, alone was miraculously survived. What could be harsher than that?" Kaien asked. "But, it wasn't an ordiniary vampire that killed his family. It was a Pureblood Vampire... Like me." Scarlet closed her eyes as she leaned back on the wall.
In the mean time, Zero was still struggling with his own problem as he was seated on the stairs, where he had fought his own mind about what had happened that day. He panted some more as he held out his thirst. What did not help her was that he heard someone's footstep and turned to find Yuki was standing on top of the stairs. "Zero?" Yuki called as Zero looked at her, somewhat horrified, while Yuki had sighed in relief as she had found him. After all, she too had been fighting with her own problem, the one that haunted her all day long that day. "I think I'm starting to understand what you've been telling me." She began as she walked down the stairs to him, and Zero stood up, still not facing her. "There's definitely frightening vampires. No...that wasn't a vampire. That was a beast in human form." She said hugging her own self, her face looked dejected as she kept walking down the stairs. Zero flinched from what she had said but did not comment on anything.
"You should know. You've seen many pitiful ends of human life. Enough to make you sick... Haven't you, former Vampire Hunter, Kaien Cross?" Kaname said as he was looking at Kaien who did not really give any expression. "He cannot avoid...that terrible fate..." Kaname added as his face fell into a sympathetic look. Scarlet opened her eyes as she walked away from the room, slowly fastening her pace.
"Don't come closer!" Zero shouted to Yuki who stopped abruptly on her way to him, as he did not even look at her. "Wh-Why?" She asked as she looked both surprised and confused. "I want to talk with you more. I want you to tell me about yourself! After all we're the same..." She could not finish as Zero spoke, "No! We aren't! We aren't..." He lower his voice at the last part. "I'm so sorry... I guess I've been selfishly thinking...that you and I are fighting the same pain and fears." Yuki spoke looking down at her hand. "I'm...so full of myself." She added as she gave small sad smile, taking a step back. Zero who heard it quickly turned to look at her as he felt guilty and had caught her hand to stop her from running away from him. "Yu-" He stopped as her bandage loosened and he could smell her blood that made him acting up again.
"A human who is bitten by a pureblood vampire..." Scarlet ran quickly to find Zero and Yuki as she recalled Kaname's words. She stopped as she saw two figures on the stairs. Her eyes widen as she saw Zero had pulled Yuki into him, with her back facing him, while one of his hand tilted her neck to the side. "Z-Zero?!" Yuki called out, panicked and scared at the same time as she felt her neck being licked, trying hard to get away from him. Scarlet watched as another words came to her mind. "...turns into a vampire." Scarlet quickly made her way down to stop him, but she was too late as she saw Zero had buried his fangs deep down on Yuki's fresh flesh.
"What?" Yuki asked in her mind as she moved her gaze to the floor and saw the box of blood tablet she had took from Zero that afternoon. "Zero... Sto... Stop!" She called out as she tried to get away from him. "Zero! Stop!" Scarlet quickly pulled him away from Yuki, and just then she realized how Zero's eyed had turned red as he grew fangs under his lips that were covered with her blood. The three just stood there in silence for a while before Yuki asked, "Wh-why...?" She moved her hand from her neck and the blood dripped to the floor. Just then that Zero regained her consciousness. "Yuki..." He called out her name in a soft, and apologetic sound before he turned his face away. "I'm sorry..." Yuki just looked at him, still processing what had happened. "Zero is...a vampire?
