I yawned as I locked my door so I went down my little path wrapping my jacket around me tighter having to be careful even if Arthur told me by now my sie would feel better but I was still in pain I hooked my handbag on a bit better and walked off down the path until I got to the gate of Arthur' place
"hello there darling" He smiles just locking up his door and coming down to give me a little kiss and holding my hand as we walked down to the train Arthur sat with him beside me and I laid my head on my his shoulder "Awww Hello sweetie, I will be seeing you later don't worry, I have to go sort my classes out" he says sipping his coffee
"Fun" I sigh
"Yeah, wish me luck with the arsehole kids?" he asks
"Lots of luck Arthur" I smile giving him a kiss just as the announcer went off "Bye Arthur" I smile
"see you later felicity" He smiles giving me a kiss before I got up and got off the train.
I was sat at my desk for a very long time trying to get my work done but every time I tried to move in my chair I felt the horrible burning pain in my side so I got up and went to the bathroom and locked myself in the little one-room bathroom I sat on the closed toilet and looked across to the little mirror slipping off my dress I sat up holding my breath trying my best not to move my stomach too much with my breaths and I undid the little white sticky tape and and I began slowly rolling the bandage around me over and over until the last fell off so I rolled it all up and I saw a large bandage on my left side stuck with some tape I put the roll on the top of the Paper roll dispenser I shut my eyes taking off the tape so I had just the bandage in my hand and I opened my eyes.
As soon as I saw it my eyes flooded with tears and I knew why I was in so much pain blood was starting to dry on my skin. It was horrible like a tattoo but burned into my skin still lightly bleeding it was a horrible mark at first I couldn't determine what It was through my tears and pain I looked to the little lines they looked like a hot knife had been cut through my skin until I saw it this was a brand burned and etched freshly into my skin and I saw it, Lines and swirls but inside of it was clearly the letters A and H.
Arthur Hariss. His Initials branded into my skin.
And at that moment as I sat crying in the bathroom crying and almost screaming as I sat there looking at the mark that will never fade. A tattoo you can get done over with something else. A tattoo you can get removed. A scar you can get fixed. A scar can fade. A scar can be covered over. But... this mark will never fade this will be a part of me forever his initials branded onto my very soul, and at that moment looking at that thing on my body I knew.
I had to run.
