Life update:
Hey! Strings of Fate’s 2 year anniversary is on March 9th (what!!), meaning I’ve got two years worth of thoughts and emotions I’d like to share.
I started this comic with the intention to grow as a person from a shitty time in my life and my art skills, and I’ve very much succeeded. SoF has grown far more than i ever thought it would, and it still blows my mind!! I’ve poured every single resource i have into this comic every single week, for hours a day; but unfortunately, I’ve found that its become harder to keep up the two page quota.
By keeping such a rapid production speed, i feel like I’ve stopped caring about quality and have focused more on quantity. My art improved significantly in the beginning, but i look at the pages from now and from the beginning of last year, and i can’t see much of a difference. I work hard, but not in the correct way. I want to improve, not simply produce.
For the past few months, school, life and mental health has made it incredibly difficult to constantly produce as many pages as I’ve been doing these past years, and as a result from forcing myself to keep working, I’ve hit a serious block.
So to counter these issues, I’m temporarily dropping the page amount to one a week. I’m hoping that if I have a little more time on my hands, i can branch out and work on different art that may get me excited to draw again.
I always tell people that flowers don’t bloom all year, but it’s been hard to listen to my own advice. Now is the time, though.
Hopefully i can resume regular updated soon, but until i snap out of this art funk, i want to keep it at one a week. Thank you for listening, and i will see you all again next Wednesday!! ♡ ♡
My insta should be a bit more active with the page drop, so follow if you haven't already! instagram.com/rezzie.art
Sooo I don't know if anyone else has commented on this, but I like how there are some solid color panels behind certain characters (like Dave her with the gray-?) when they feel something and sometimes the color gets darker for a moment and then goes back to lighter (like Clark in that one early chapter) idk if that's like intentional and ik this is long but I just wanted to appreciate that.
STRINGS OF FATE is a story about a naive boy who tries to find his place in the world. His fated path is a long one, where he experiences the joys of first love and adventure, but some aren’t so keen on where it’s taking him.
With his best friends by his side and a bright future in front of him, will he be blinded by new opportunities, or will he realize that the two he considers the closest have secrets of their own and words on the tips of their tongues?
