The next morning Fayt woke up early and excited. Being the royal prince, he wasn’t allowed to spend his time outside, making friends. Unlike his sisters, he was treated as a precious object to be hidden away and protected. However, as a child he always found ways to escape from the castle for short periods of time.
Quickly, Fayt dressed in the only pair of common clothes he owned; in which he had actually stolen from one of the butlers who frequented the town outside the castle walls. A short-sleeve shirt and some comfortable cloth shorts, made for running and movement.
Ah, compared to his normal clothes, Fayt loved how breathable they were.
For the first time in a while, the promise of a day outside distracted him while changing enough to leave the cursed marking on his chest unnoticed. He had no time to worry about that.
Once dressed, Fayt slowly crept out of his room, making absolutely sure no one was passing by before stealthily making his way down the hall.
By stealthily, it was actually just the prince creeping with his back along the wall, sliding down the hallway and darting his head back and forth every time the hallway broke off into separate directions.
Once at the stairs leading to the lobby, the prince didn't even look twice to see if anyone was coming, or down at the end before jumping onto the railing and sliding his way down.
However, to his dismay, at the bottom of the large staircase, right in his path stood Axel with his back turned. The prince himself hadn't noticed until he was halfway down and let out a rather late call to flee. “Axel, get out of the way!” the prince whisper-screamed, panicking as he couldn’t move from where he was without leaning off the railings and finding himself with a larger fall than he planned.
His call came too late. When the knight turned around to see what the noise was, he was met with Fayt’s quickly approaching body. The sheer force slammed him to the ground, hard.
Having closed his eyes, hoping that would lessen the damage, Fayt reopened them and froze. When they collided and fell, the way their bodies met ended with their lips pressed together, chocolate eyes staring straight into bright blue.
Both the shock, as well as a single thought pulsating in his brain kept Fayt from immediately throwing himself off the other male. ‘His lips...are so soft…’
Suddenly, the realization of what just happened hit him. Shocked, he threw his head back and slammed a hand over his very own mouth. “I… You… We…” As much as he really wanted to say how much he hated the idea of what had just happened, Fayt also really wanted to press their lips back together to feel that softness again. With that idea dominating his thoughts, his face immediately flushed.
“Now, I don’t object to you straddling me, but I suggest we do it in a more...secluded area. Unless Your Highness wouldn’t mind an audience.” With a soft purr, the knight took advantage of the moment as well as their position and with both of his hands, settled them on the smaller male’s butt.
Fayt let out a surprised yelp at that and immediately jumped off the front of his knight, letting the other pull himself into a sitting position. “You pervert! That was… That was my first kiss! You stole it, give it back!” His face was still a bright pink, fueled by how flustered and angered he was. Anger? Well not really. Though, why should he give the satisfaction of it being any other way?
“I’m not entirely sure one can return a kiss,” Axel smirked. “However, why don’t we have a repeat and find out?”
Eyes widening, Fayt backed off and turned away, choosing to try to calm himself rather than to feed the other’s teasing. “Hurry up and let's leave before we waste more time on things like this.” He took a deep breath and stomped away, tucking the memories of the kiss safely into his heart.
