Dead End

CurseBlay

CurseBlay

Feb 26, 2019

We hit the ground, and the slime jiggled a lot. I opened my eye, as the blob dissolved around me. It had taken the fall for me and died. Now that was accidental way to solve two problems in one. I looked around. I stood on a platform, with a giant door on it. The platform being very small, mind you. Around was nothing but more of a dark fall. Up above the faint light of fire illuminated. I looked around for the Grim Reaper, and Thimble. Thimble had to of fallen down the abyss. I felt a twinge of sadness. The poor idiot had to be dead. The grim Reaper must of claimed his soul instead. I looked toward the door. It looked grand enough to hide some secret. I opened it very slowly, for it was pretty old. A garden. I entered a garden. I looked up to see way up above was the son. This was a giant hole with a garden underneath. Anyone who attempted to get here through the hole, probably would die. In the distance was a pedestal, and within the pedestal, a sword. This must be it. I still couldn't believe that Thimble was dead, I had assumed that this would happen, it just happened way quicker then I expected. He had died trying to retrieve a sword. That treasure hunter better be happy. I began walking toward it, when the ground began to shake. From the ground a ginormous velvet red snake burst through the ground. I fell backwards, from the sheer size of the thing. It had to be ten times the size of me. It's gigantic head slithered toward me. "Who..." It slithered. I'd be surprised that a snake was speaking to me, if I hadn't talked to a bush previously. "I stood back up, regaining my composure. "I am, Commander Z." I responded. It's demonic soulless eyes, studied me. "Lies." It slithered. I cocked my eyebrow. "Your name is Zachary....Kilfer." It replied. I laughed. It began to look angry. "No, to you, I am Z. You do not have the privilege of addressing me that way." I replied. It looked furious. "I am a ancient being, guarding weapons of mass destruction, you are not as worthy as I, Surukodo." It hissed violently. I nodded. I peered over to get a better look at the sword. "so that's...the CurseBlay?" I asked. It slithered, until it's giant face was right up against mine. "YOU SHOULD NOT EVEN DARE THINKING ABOUT TAKING THE CURSEBLAY!" It shrieked. I smiled. "Oops, just thought about it." I replied smugly. With that I bolted past the giant serpent, towards the sword. The giant snake roared a earthshaking sound, something I'd never expect from a snake. With it's giant body, it came barreling towards me. I stopped at the sword and withdrew it, as the giant snake came ever closer, while shaking the ancient garden. The sword was a Nimcha. The hilt was especially golden. The blade, looked thin, and sharp. This was one of the most quality looking swords, I had seen. It was very light, lighter then your average rapier. It didn't have a single sign of rust, what so ever. It seemed as if it truly was forged by a god. I moved away from where I drew the blade and sprinted away, not being able to study it for too long, as the giant snake was right behind me. I bolted to to the dirt wall on the other side of the garden. I looked up to see whether or not I could climb it or not. It didn't look possible at all. So naturally I began to climb up. I've been told many times, I have a habit of not thinking ahead in these kind of scenarios. As I climbed up the snake rammed into the wall right under me, shaking the wall like crazy, and knocking me off. I fell on top of the snake, who was a bit stunned from ramming into the wall, full force. I took the CurseBlay, and swiftly stabbed downward on the snake. It screamed bloodcurdling hell. It's head raised up and turned toward me. I withdrew the CurseBlay, from the bloody gash, and began running across it's huge red scaly body in the opposite direction. It's head slithered on the back of it's body, mouth open chasing me. Running out of breath, I jumped upward, above it's bloodthirsty mouth and onto of it's disgusting head. It's devilish eyes glared at me, as it's head stopped, and began snapping upward, and shaking around, trying to make me fall off. To keep my balance, I took the CurseBlay, and stabbed it downward. Within the second I pierced it's skin, the snake screeched and shook so intensely, that the CurseBlay and I were sent flying off. I fell to the ground hard. It slowly slithered to my aching body. "Pathetic creature, you are blind, you only use a fraction of the CurseBlay's power, you are not worthy to wield it, no one is." It hissed. I slowly stood up. gripping the sword. "Oh....and who can wield a blade like this?" I coughed. I noticed, my arm was bleeding from the fall. It laughed at my question. "Pitiful, insect...only the pure hearted and pure good can use it, and no such thing exists in humanity." I stood up. "Yeah, yeah. I've heard this whole song and dance before, tell me how to use it." I replied. It glared at me. "You humans are sick. Let's say you could activate it, what would you even do with it?" It hissed. "End war everywhere." I replied. "Idiot, war is immortal, there is no escape to war, everything in creation is bound to it." It yelled. I nodded. "I...won't stop fighting....until I find my peace. I intend to use this for that, for all the people that died to stop war. For Thimble, For Madelyn, for Mortimer, and for all the stupid deaths that occurred because of war." I replied. I began clutching my arm. Damn painful. It chuckled. "I grow bored of your disillusions. Tell me, how do you plan for this to end?" It asked. I took the CurseBlay. "This meets with you meeting your dead end!" I yelled. It laughed. "The only one is meeting their "dead end" is you!" It shouted. It opened up it's mouth and striked. I rolled out of the ignoring the pain in my arm. The snakes head connected with the ground I stood seconds before. I jumped onto the scales of the beast and stabbed my blade into it. Using the blade, I climbed onto the beast. It recoiled in pain and shot it's head toward me. I jumped out of the way, as it's face collided into it's back. I jumped onto the beasts face, and began repeatedly stabbing it in it's soulless eyes. It's squeals of pain echoed throughout the garden. I jumped off back onto it's back, before it could shake me off again. The room grew hot as blue flames erupted out of it's mouth. It began breathing flames onto it's back. I jumped off avoiding the flames. The snake began to burn. I fell off, against a wall. The flames, covered in blue flames began torpedoing toward me. Nowhere to run. I held the CurseBlay out in front of me, both hands holding it directly in front of my face. Looking at the pure anger of the snake's reflection, I smiled, as it drew closer. The CurseBlay began to glow. The sword illuminated in my hands, and blasted the flaming beast with a beam of light. It screeched as it recoiled into the dirt wall on the opposite side of the garden. The ground shook as it collided. I stood there in shock and awe. A smile crept onto my face. "I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!" It shrieked. "There's nothing to understand." I responded. It slowly slithered back from the wall and turned to me. "I WILL NOT ALLOW A SAVAGE LIKE YOU MISUSE THIS SWORD!" It yelled. "Too bad." I responded. The snake grew furious with my comments, and burst into flames once more. It bolted toward me. I took the blade and stuck it out again. Once more I blasted the snake back. It collided into the back wall once more. It layed there in agony. A few boulders fell from above from the shaken round, and fell on it, trapping it. I walked over to it, grinning madly. It's soulless eyes gleamed at me. "You..." It grunted. "Are amazing." I finished for it. "You, are an egotistical, self centered, misguided, moron!!" It yelled, while it tried to get free. "Please, I've been called worse." I replied. It sighed. "You...You will ruin this world, I do not know why the blade works for you, You will use the blade only for your own self gain" It muttered. I studied the blade. "It's not THAT powerful." It yawned. "You insult me. The gods must of made a flaw when designing this weapon." The snake sighed. I cocked my eyebrow. "Oh? What if I'm "destined" to save the world and all that jazz." I replied smugly. "Please, I know you were fibbing when you said, you'd use it to kill Kirem." The snake replied. "Oh? How'd you know that?" I responded. "I've seen many vile humans in my life, they all made for grand meals." It responded. I nodded. "And have any of them, actually picked up the blade?" I asked. The snake moved it's head slightly, sighing. "No, Your the only one." It murmured. I smiled. "So, theoretically, anyone could wield this blade, and you have no proof that only some kind of "hero" could wield it, since you eat everyone that comes to this place." I explained. The snake groaned. "Then truly my life has been for naught." The snake replied. It moved it's head away from me. I sighed. "This...Kirem...how bad is he?" I asked. The snake moved it's head back. "Are you actually considering....fulfilling the heroic destiny of the CurseBlay?" The snake asked. "A little less now...god, I hate destiny bull crap." I sighed. It nodded. "Well? You going to tell me about this terrible Kirem?" I asked, losing patience. "...Kirem...is the king of monsters. He wasn't always though. He was once a peace loving creature, who wandered through Estern. The human's killed his family, simply because they were monsters. In revolt, Kirem, rallied up every monster in all of Estern, and built an army. He became known, as The leader of the darkness, the monster king Kirem." The snake explained. I nodded. "Where do I find him?" I asked. The snake chuckled slightly. "Upper Estern, past the everwinter forest." The snake sighed. "And if I kill him....Will it end the war?" I asked. The snake chuckled once more. "Mankind is forever warbound. They will forever be stuck in the ground, fighting their pitiful and pathetic wars. Killing Kirem, at best may cause temporary peace." The snake ranted. I sighed. "Close enough." I sighed. The snake looked at me skepticaly. "I don't quite believe that'll you'll follow through." The snake growled. I glared at him. "At one point in my life, I was considered a hero." I replied angrily. The snake laughed. "Please, their is a big difference from a hero to a war hero. What set you apart from all the other soldiers?" It asked. "I lived." I responded. It chuckled again. "That only means your a dishonorable coward, at least the rest had the guts to go up and die for their cause." The snake replied. In a fit of anger I took my blade and shot a blast of white energy, blasting away the boulders that trapped the snake. It looked at me confused. "Why did you do that?" It asked. "Because I need you to lift me out of this of this hole." I responded. It sighed. "Oh, and here I thought you were letting me live, because of your heroic nature." It sighed. I jumped on top of it, and it lifted me up all the way into the well lit area. I stepped off the snake and onto the grassy ground. I looked back at the snake. "One last thing, your magical music box....was it cursed?" I asked. The snake started lowering. "That music box was the pure essence of hope, it was by far, a blessing." It explained as it crawled down the hole. I smiled. Thank god.
