The celestial dance awoke the first miracle upon the face of young Gaia. As time passed, swaths of color had come to dot her blue seas. Spires of gleaming stone had risen from the depths and they in turn were host to cloaks of soft greenery. The song of brother Sol and the dance of sister Luna had coaxed forth the seeds of Life.
So proud they were of their clever sister. Gaia soon began creating new life that would flourish across her surface. All manner of novel creatures swam in her oceans and crawled across her shores. In time mossy patches became fields. Vast fields became lush forests. Now life didn't simply grow but would run and fly and thrive.
Though teaming with all manner of life, Gaia was not content. These lesser beasts were driven by only the basest of needs and could not hear the song. Inspired by those intricate forms and with a desire for something greater, Gaia poured not only Life but the force of Will into her creation so that they would more than listen but sing new songs of their own. They would know more than hunger and mating; they would know her and know beauty and joy.
Grand they were, and beautiful and wise. Multitudes of finned leviathans churned the cold seas with their harmonies. Vast herds of huge hoofed beasts beat rumbling thunder across the open plains. Jungles teemed with the lilting calls of winged fowl flitting gracefully through the trees. High mountain peaks echoed with the roaring cries of dragons with their shining horns. They now sang for themselves and they sang for their Mother and then Gaia knew an unparalleled joy.
Thus was the birth of Gaia's first Children and the dawn of the First Age.
