"Are we going to practice kissing again?" Isabel joked but her toned allurement that pulled Abigail in even more. Abigail hated it when Isabel played with her words, it caused her to rise only to be shattered at the end.

"What did Nate say about your kisses?" Abigail was not sure what that little moment she was about, but she knew she was just imagining things.

"Oh my God, he is just so sweet." Abigail could not have been happier, despite the wretched feeling she felt every time they talked about Isabel's love life, Isabel's features always seem to have lit up. This was contentment for Abigail in the most painful way.

"Enough about me, how're you feeling now?" Isabel desperately wanted to know why her best friend was so grateful for her life, but she was not ready to share, Isabel could understand that.

"I'm fine. I do not want to talk about it." Abigail yawned out and Isabel took it as cue to turn off the lights.

"Let's go to sleep." Abigail was ready to leave the bed but surprisingly Isabel got in, pulling the comforter over their bodies. They were going to sleep on the same bed ?! They had sleepovers before, but never really shared a bed. Abigail tensed a little, feeling Isabel's slender arms pulling her close. She was glad that they were not facing each other, Abigail knew she would not have been able to contain herself.

Minutes had passed and Abigail stared at the window straight ahead, the moon's gleam shining through, illuminating the dark room. Abigail retrieved her phone from under the pillow and checked, she jumped up to see Tiffany's name. Tiffany had called her three times, unfortunately Abigail's phone was on silent.

Creeping out of the bed, she silently sneaked out of the room, being careful not to wake Isabel up. She knew Isabel's house like the back of her hand, it was practically her second home. Isabel's mom was hardly ever home, leaving only her and her little brother, Troy.

Abigail went out to the garden and abruptly called Tiffany's number.

"Hello, Abigail?" Tiffany answered unsure whilst Abigail jumped with joy.

"Where are you? What happened? Are you safe? Seriously I'm worried-"

"I'm with my boyfriend, staying at his apartment. Do not tell mom and dad, I do not want to barging in and sucking in the tiny bit of freedom I have left." Tiffany chuckled through the phone, but Abigail knew there was distaste in her words- she truly felt bad for Tiffany.

"I will not say a word. But call or text me, so I know you're safe at least." Abigail frowned, that was the least she could do.

"Of course, I'll call you tomorrow okay?"

The two sisters bid farewell to each other, Abigail making her way back to Isabel's room. She noticed how Tiffany did not want to talk about the bruise that she had formed on her face, she was not comfortable enough and Abigail was alright with that.

She got back into bed, feeling Isabel stir beside her.

"You're back." Abigail knew Isabel was smiling sheepishly even if she could not make out her face in the dark.

"Yeah sorry I left, Tiffany called."

"Do not apologize." Isabel grabbed Abigail's wrist, pulling her down, their faces inches apart. Abigail's breathing had increased, she did not want to face Isabel. Isabel cupped her exposed cheek with her palm, pressing their foreheads together.

Abigail shut her eyes, trying to calm her breathing, all the while as Isabel's leg wedged between Abigail's. She was upset, making it harder for Abigail to turn the other way. Removing her hand from Abigail's cheek, she placed it on her lower back. Abigail was sure, Isabel could see her blushing thanks to the moonlight that dimly lit the room.

"You know what's going on, I'm here for you. We can talk about anything, okay?" Isabel whispered through the dark, her strawberry scented breath hitting Abigail's lips.

"Okay." Abigail weakly croaked out. She scrunched her eyes, great ... why did she have this awkward around her?

"Thanks, by the way" Abigail spoke up again, hoping to redeem her quirkiness from before. Isabel's eyes shot open and Abigail was at loss for words. Her eyes were pure yellow, with specks of green, it was like a forest. Isabel arched her brow, wanting for Abigail to continue. I love you, I mean you left uh Nate, you know since you guys were kissing- "Abigail blabbered on, stuttering here and there, Isabel put her finger against Abigail's lips.

"No problem." Isabel could not help but laugh, she knew how difficult it was for Abigail to speak up, her stuttering made her even more adorable.

Isabel leaned forward, placing her plump lips on Abigail's forehead. She kept it for a while, while Abigail squirmed beneath her. Isabel pulled back and stared into Abigail's eyes. "What happened, Abigail?"

"Tiffany ran away from home, she had a bruise on her face." Abigail blurted out before realizing she was under the spell of Isabel's soft charisma. Isabel's face consorted into seriousness, asking Abigail to continue. "I think it was my dad." Isabel's eyes widened in worry and fear. She pulled Abigail much closer, removing the small bit of space they had left.

It came to Abigail's mind that, Isabel's chest was pressed against her own. She hoped that Isabel was not going to try and make a conversation, Abigail knew she was not going to be able to form the right words.

"Stay with me, here. It's my brother and I, you'll have no problems. Even if my mom comes back, you know she loves you, she'll understand." Abigail's heart melted. Isabel genuinely worried for Abigail's health and safety.

"I can not. I need to get home. Not for my dad, but for my mom at least." Abigail whispered faintly. Her hand shakily made it's way to Isabel's hip.

"Alright."

As if they were not close enough, Isabel squeezed Abigail's body against her own. Abigail could feel her eyes closing from the warmth and ease of her body.
