It was late in Westwind but Hiro couldn’t wait until the morning, he was busy packing his bag in the guest room he had been staying. Jewel was there with him. He had informed her about the whole plan a couple seconds ago.
“Do you really have to do this, Hiro?” asked Jewel. She was concerned about the whole plan. It didn’t sound safe to her. “Yes, Jewel. This will get you free.” He continued packing his bag. “Fine. Let me help.” He nodded. Jewel went away for a bit and came back with some sandwiches she had put away in a lunch box. He smiled as she handed it over. “I won't starve to death now.” he said laughingly. “How about all the other ways to die?!” She almost cried.
Jewel never had someone she truly cared for. Hiro had been nicer to her in one night than most of the elves in her daily life, including Orion. Jewel had let herself fall down on the bed. Hiro understood why she was being concerned but he was certain, he could do it.
“Jewel, are you forgetting that I'm the best assassin out there?” She looked up, into his eyes. He looked away. “Can't I be worried?” she said kindly. Hiro put down his bag on the ground and sat next to her on the bed. He put his arm close to her left thigh. “Look..” Jewel became nervous. She tried to hide it. He looked into her pink eyes. “I'll be fine. I promise.” She lifted herself up. Her movement could almost make you peek into her dress. Jewel was wearing quite an exposing dress, gifted by Orion that she had to wear during Hiro's visit. The dress was almost shining through, any elf-soldier, elf-man even, would happily see that but Hiro?
He quickly looked the other way, again. Jewel touched his left shoulder. “You promise?” Hiro looked her way, he wanted to look into her eyes but somehow he couldn’t. “I promise you.” The elves awkwardly looked at each other. Hiro stood up before it could go too awkward. “Just like I promise I'll get you out of here. Out of his hands..” He took out his blade. “Or should I cut them off while he's still asleep?” He made Jewel laugh. “Please don't.” Hiro was shocked. “Don't?!” She smiled. “I want to do it myself, one day..” Jewel was looking at him so innocent, yet so revengeful, he secretly loved it. “Jewel, leave the dirty work to me. I insist.”
Highland
Unlike Westwind, it was early in the morning in Highland. Every elf in the region gossiped about the ceremony. Avalon had done everything in his power to shut down this gossip in High Hill, the area where the his family and the rest of nobility of Highland lives. However, High Hill is close to The Hills, the place where most Highlanders live. Their entire homebase area was pretty secure ever since The Fairy War. Avalon had High Hill protected by many elf-soldiers he had trained himself over the years. He was always aware about anything happening in The Hills themselves but what happened at her ceremony? He knew nothing about that.
“Do they have a new Breaker?” asked Avalon to his informants. He was in the meeting room, in a call by hologram. “No, Sir.” said the elf-men. “The Wind hasn't spread anything about having a new weapon.” said one. “Maybe HE made it in secret?” - “Baldwin is a man who would brag.” - “Wouldn't we all have felt it if he had a new one?” “You're right, Agent.” said Avalon shaking his head. He realised that The Wind had nothing to do with this. “Continue your task.” They saluted at Avalon and ended the call. Avrilla walked in. She looked worried. “How is my daughter?” “Amethyst is still…” “I see.”
“Thyst. Open up your mind to me, please.” Blossom sat next to Amethyst's bed. She was almost crying. Amethyst's eyes have been closed ever since the ceremony had begun. It seemed like Amethyst was in a coma with no way of waking her up. Blossom felt extremely useless. She is the perfect Linker to get the job done but she couldn't reach Amethyst's mind. Her signal was blocked. “Please, Thyst. I never got to tell you..” She sighed. “Come on, Thyst..”
“I knew it! I told Blossom but she didn’t believe me! I knew the dream was connected to my 18th birthday.” She was doing a little happy dance. “Amethyst, we do not have more time. I need you to open up. Reach to me.” said the voice. “Reach? I still don’t understand what you want.. Why do you answer me so little..” “Reach to me, Amethyst. Reach to me.” Amethyst was thinking. The voice would only answer a few questions. Maybe she does need to reach. Amethyst tried to focus on the voice only. The bright light shined brighter and brighter. The voice became more clear. “Amethyst.”
She opened her eyes. She saw a woman. A beautiful woman. It was unclear to her if this woman was an elf or a fairy. All she could see, was that it was a female creature. The woman stood by a tree, a Mother Tree. Which Mother Tree? Amethyst couldn’t see. Everything was so vague.
“Eira, hear my prayers. Bring my sister back to me. I will do anything you want. Just bring her back. Please, bring her back.” Blossom was trying to hold in her tears while praying to their Goddess, Eira.
“Who are you?” Slowly, Amethyst got closer to the woman. She could almost see how the woman looked like. “We must go.” said the same angelic voice. “No, wai-”
Amethyst begin to open her eyes. She wasn’t fully conscious yet. “GUARDS! SHE IS AWAKE! GET MY PARENTS!” yelled the surprised Blossom. Thank you, Eira. She was holding Amethyst’s hand. “Thyst, it is me, Blossom.” Blossom tried to keep Amethyst awake. She had invaded her mind. Blossom could finally get signal. Amethyst, it is me, Blossom, your sister. - Blos?
Amethyst started to see Blossom, the bed she has been laying in, the walls, the full room. It was her room. “Huh? I don’t understand.” “Save your energy.” said Blossom. Avalon, followed by Avrilla, had walked into the room. “Amethyst, my dear. I’m so sorry.” He took over Blossom’s spot. “Dad? What happened?” “Amethyst, you have been asleep for 2 days.” She was shocked. “TWO DAYS?!”
But it only felt like two minutes..
