Alan's pov
I ended up texting that mysterious person most of the night. I woke up later than I usually did. I was almost late for my bus but I made it as the doors were about to close. The seats were all taken. But there was room to sit by at least three people. One glared at me as I came over so I decided not to sit by her. Another guy was picking his nose then drew on the window with that exact same finger. I shivered and shook my head looking at the seat that was slightly closer to the front. I liked sitting in the back though. I made my way to the seat only seeing the top of a golden brown ash blonde's head. As I made my way over I noticed it was that kid from yesterday who was getting picked on and helped me in class.
"Is this seat taken?" I asked looking down at him and he finally turned his head to look at me with his blue eyes.
"Um..no," he said softly I could barely hear him and I sat down feeling like a million eyes were on me when in reality it was probably not even that many staring at me.
"So um...how did you sleep?" I asked, totally didn't sound creepy at all Alan.
"Uh...fine?" he asked blinking at me.
"That's um...good. I slept okay I was texting late." I said laughing awkwardly while rubbing the back of my neck. Starting conversations are usually easy, okay I lie their hard.
"Coooool..." he said looking away slowly and looked out the window like he was before I came making me sigh and look down. "I um..." I glanced up at him as he began talking again. "I was texting late also," he said which kinda surprised me but I'm sure anyone can have friends so it shouldn't have. Plus us teens are usually always texting.
"That's cool I was.." I stopped in mid-sentence as I saw Stacie get onto the bus that's when I mentally cursed inside my head. Well, I thought I did until the kid I was sitting next to glanced at me.
Stacie glanced around before her hazel eyes landed on me. I swallowed feeling my cheeks heat up. I ducked my head down not knowing what to do next. The kid blinked and glanced down at me. Before I knew it Stacie had come over to where we were sitting.
"Um...hey," I said sitting up quickly as she blinked then laughed softly.
"Hey," she said smiling at me and my heart was racing at her laugh and smile. "So um... I kind of lost your number," she said as a couple of other kids got on the bus.
"I know- I mean that's okay," I said nodding.
"So can I have it again?" she asked and I nodded quickly as she handed me her phone. I put my number in her phone then handed it back to her. "Thanks and sorry for losing it," she said and I nodded before she walked off.
"Looks like someone has a crush." I heard and jumped looking all around before looking at the kid who was looking out the window again.
"I do not," I grumbled when it was totally obvious that I did have a crush on Stacie, probably anyone could easily notice except her.
"Whatever makes you sleep at night," he said and that was the end of us talking, the rest of the side to school was quiet between us.
"Sup dude." Landon grinned heading over to me as I got off the bus.
"Sup," I said and he nudged me as Stacie came off the bus.
"Looks like your lover is near, better confess quick," he said making me roll my eyes and push his elbow away.
"Yeah yeah, I'll confess another time," I said and Landon scoffed.
"You mean never." he laughed before his arm was over my shoulders. "Kaden is probably near the trees like usual," he said as he leads me to the huge trees grown in front of the school.
And sure enough there Kaden was, leaning on a tree. I almost thought he was smoking but it just turned out he was just simply leaning on a tree. Landon tugged me along with him to Kaden. Kaden pushed himself off the tree when we came over.
"Kaaddeeeen!" Landon was about to tackle him but Kaden moved just in time, Landon ran straight into a tree making me snort. I quickly covered my mouth as Kaden smirked.
"Heh," Kaden said as Landon groaned and got up walking over to us rubbing his arm.
"Stop fooling around you two." I laughed wrapping my arms over their shoulders and Kaden ducked away from it as Landon groaned again pulling away. They both shared a look at each other before heading to the doors. "Oh I see, it's uncool when I do it," I grumbled stuffing my hands in my pockets before following them.
