Paige sat on the couch, in her home as her two children played. Her husband, Preston was working at the bakery this time of day. Her mind wandered back to her eldest, Patrick she thought she was doing him a favor when she and Preston went to kill the boy when he was 9. Yet now she regretted it, she should have left the town, or at least outcasted her son, like the Garcia's did, then maybe she wouldn't have so much guilt. And with Preston telling their daughter and the Garcia's kids horrible stories about the two...how they were murders, freaks the list went on and on. She wondered were those two went all those years ago....
Patrick was relaxing in a meadow full of bright flowers and clovers, near a river far away from the town. Grace was busying herself with trying to find a way to get Emily back and that was stressful in itself. When Patrick saw guards coming through the woods, his mind went straight back to his mother, knowing this was her doing. He ran, feeling the woods closing in on him, until he got into the cabin.
"Pack everything up!Guards!"He said, as he hastily started packing, Grace stopped for the fraction of a second until she used a spell to pack up her things and did the same with Patrick's, now the cabin looked like how they found it;like no one lived in it for years. The two teens ran out the front door just as they heard the guards stop. Emily soared above them, acting as a scout. The tag team knew they were on the run again, they knew they would be found but they thought they at least had a few more months, well before Paige showed up that is.
"Split up!"Patrick yelled to his female counterpart.
"Where will we meet?"Grace yelled back.
"You'll know!"Patrick replied before he started to run, before jumping from tree to tree, sometimes grabbing onto a branch and propelling himself forward.
Grace ran the other way, Emily seemed to be guiding her, did her and Patrick talk about something when she was away from the cabin? Grace ran as far as her legs would take her. Emily dove, landing on a branch above Grace's head before Grace smiled.
"Smart idea, Em."She spoke softly before she started her climb up the tree, her resting place for the night.
The sun shined bright on Patrick's back, sweat pouring down his back. Why did it have to be so hot today? Just why? He glanced over his shoulder, seeing and hearing no one, yet that didn't mean no one was there. As he found the place he was looking for, seeing Grace sitting, feet in the water, as Emily rested in her hair.
"Grace! You made it!"He exclaimed happily as he tackled her. Quickly getting off her and relaxing back.
"Yeah, Emily lead me.Did you two plan something?"She asked her friend, who shrugged in response.
"No, I just saw this place in a dream...back when we first got to the cabin."Patrick explained,
"Oh, you told me about that...you said something like you'd thought it'd be important, right?"Grace asked, wishing she could have transported the cabin using a spell. Patrick heaved himself up,
"Whelp, it's time to start working on a base camp."Patrick said as their things appeared. Patrick started set up some tents and a fire.
It was nightfall when the two decided they should eat something, it was just a simple meal of bread, dried meat and fruit anyways.
Patrick awoke in a cold sweat, he curled up into a ball and cried, wishing these tents where soundproof so Grace didn't hear him cry....
He felt his mind going back to that night....even if he didn't want to, he ended up eight years in the past and he didn't like it one bit.
"Momma! Please!"Young, 9 year old Patrick cried as he ran from his now murderous parents sapphire colored eyes had tears streaming from them, he didn't know why they wanted to hurt him all of a sudden, weren't parents supposed to protect you?
"Get back here you little freak!"He father bellowed, this man wasn't the man he called Papa. The elder male tackled his boy and held the sharp knife point to his skull, his rage and disappointment covering up and rational thoughts. Patrick saw his mother stand over him, doing nothing, she was letting this happen. Patrick was now glad his father taught him a small bit of fighting skills, he could use them to live. Patrick kicked his father in between his legs and the older male rolled back in pain, the young 'Unknown' ran, his mother in to much shock to do anything, he ran until his legs felt like they were going to snap.
"H-hello?"He called out weakly, having no other options. A young girl, maybe two years younger than himself appeared and smiled at him, before making her way over to him.
"Hi, I found a cabin if you want to stay with me...I'm Grace!"The girl said happily.
"W-why are you out here?"Patrick asked wishing he didn't have a stutter. Grace looked at the forest floor, upset.
"I'm sorry if I..."Patrick started but Grace cut him off,
"It's okay my parents outcasted me, I'm guessing that happened to you too?"She asked as they made their way to the small cabin the would call home for the rest of their lives. Patrick shook his head, as the tears trailed down his cheeks like rivers.
"N-no....m-my m-momma a-and p-papa t-tried t-to k-kill m-me a-and it w-was b-because I-i'm d-different, that's what my Papa said."He explained, choking on his tears. Grace hugged him, understanding he was the 'Unknown' boy her family was talking about. She smiled at him and whipped away his tears as they settled on the dusty couch.
"Well it seems we only have each-other now, Patrick."She explained.
He was snapped out of the never ending hell by Grace tightly hugging him,
"Shh, it's okay Pat, I'm okay..your okay.Nothing bad's going to get you...I promise."She said and Patrick slowly regained his composer, not knowing his eyes were a sapphire color.
"Just lay with me....it feels weird not sleeping in the same room as you..even though you have a girlfriend..."Patrick said, a small smile on his lips. Grace smiled back at him as she lad on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her, in brotherly fashion.
"She won't mind, y'know..."Grace commented and with that the pair somehow fell asleep and slept through the whole night, without any interruptions.
