Centuries ago, two beings amongst humans were chosen to inherit the power of Fire and the other of Earth. The First Ones were Honua and Ahi. They generated from the earth and from the sun and were considered the Gods. Honua was as beautiful as nature itself. Her skin resembled that of jade stones and her hair flowed down her back and flowers bloomed from it. Her eyes resembled the sky, just like Ahi’s. Ahi was as bright as the sun, his skin giving off an orange glow. A handsome man with burgundy hair that curled around his shoulders. When they first laid eyes on each other, it was as it they both found a part of themselves they never thought they needed. Ahi was mesmerized the most with Honua’s eyes. His heart raced just by her gaze. Honua found Ahi’s dimples and freckles to be what caught her attention the most. The two fell for each other that exact moment, since then they were inseparable. After a few years, humans learned about The First Ones and the great power they had. Some chose to follow Honua because to them she was simplicity, life, and beauty, they refused to follow Ahi for the only saw destruction and smoke. As for the rest, they chose to follow Ahi because what they saw was strength, power, and light. They saw Honua as too simpleminded. The citizens were enraged at each other. Both sides threatened each other and hated seeing both gods together. As a means to prevent chaos and anymore hatred, Honua and Ahi left each other and hid at their temples with their guardian animals at the entrance. As the years passed, the people divided themselves into two clans, and slowly, the story of Honua and Ahi became a legend and nothing more.
