I opened my eyes slightly and slowly. A small light from above was lit. I stood up and groaned. the light laid on the ground like a spotlight. Beyond the lights was darkness. Standing in the darkness was the reaper.
"I'm....no...I'm dead aren't I?" I asked. My glare appeared as i reached for a weapon, only to find none on me.
"I don't care! I'm not done! I can't be!" I yelled. A tear rolled down my eye. To go out like that, was pathetic. The reaper inched closer.
"NO! I refuse! Stay back." I yelled. The reaper kept walking forward. My fist tightened.
"I'm warning you pal, I ain't no ordinary person. You think you can send me to hell!? HELL NO!" I yelled. The hooded demon inched dangerously close. The reaper dropped the deadly looking scythe and pulled out the music box. It opened up and a soothing nostalgic sound replayed. More tears came.
"WHY!? Why do you remind me!? Damn it...DAMN IT!" I yelled caving in. the unfairness of life caved in all around me, as I felt weak as I admitted the fact that even I, feared death. I remembered my dear child. My fist weakened as the reaper crept even closer, within the radius of my breath.
"I'm tired of this song and dance we call life." I stuttered. The cloaked figure came close and hugged me. The shock of the action caused all notions in my head to go silent. Death itself was embracing me, non violently, perhaps there was a simple beauty in the fact that death was more gentle then life itself.
"Father..." A voice echoed from under the hood. My eye went wide as he removed the hood. From under a sea of hazily taken care of white hair were his caring and beautiful red eyes. Mortimer Kilfer, my own son, stood before me in the appearance of a young adult. Tears lept from my eye.
"M-Morte?" I asked. He gave a heartfelt smile from his eyes.
....................................................................................................................................
I stood up from the ground groaning, blood laid around me, my blood. I felt rejuvenated. I stood up to see Morte unhooded slashing his scythe against Thimble's blade. A look of shock and confusion hit Thimble. Morte turned toward me as thimble flew against the wall and sat on the ground looking in pain.
"Morte!?" I gasped. he walked over.
"Father...It's been so long." Morte replied. I was taken aback.
"Your alive....h-how?" I asked. He smiled.
"Long ago, you left me with a music box. It was...magical..It...brought me back to life. And i used it to bring you back alive right now...For years I've been roaming the wastelands searching for you, searching for you...But when i found you...I found him." Morte replied. Thimble stood up and glared.
"Mortimer Kilfer." Thimble spat as he wipes some blood off of him. Morte glared.
"You. YOU." Morte called out.
"That's the last time you try to kill father!" Morte yelled. Thimble smirked as i looked at Morte.
"He killed you before when you would sleep, I always brought you back." Morte replied. Thimble glared.
"Oh yes, that was truly bothersome. But now that you have fully revealed yourself Morte, I suppose if I kill you both and take that music box, I suppose there will be no resurrections afterward." Thimble replied. My eye borrowed under my glare.
"Killing me is one thing, but killing my child. No. I'll make sure your dead by the end of the day." I muttered. Morte clenched his scythe.
"Terre-" He began before Thimble chucked lightning toward Morte. He held a magic staff that was as long as he was tall covered in a brown hue. Morte grew purple wings and flew up above.
"THAT IS NOT MY NAME!" He yelled angrily. He snapped and the Surukodo appeared in his hand. i looked to the ground and saw the Curseblay. Morte glared at Thimble.
"Pathetic. Father, let's rid the world of this monster forever." Morte replied.
Thimble laughed.
"That's what Marley would say about you know Morte." Thimble laughed. A tear ran down Morte's cheek as he dive bombed toward Morte. While they were distracted I bolted and grabbed the CurseBlay. Morte's metal met Thimble's. The Surukodo grew red as he pushed Morte back with much haste. From thimble's hand a fireball emerged. He chucked it toward Morte. Morte created fire in his hand and caught Thimble's fireball.
"You copied my fathers own magic?" Thimble asked. Morte responded with a jab to Thimble's gut. Thimble groaned as his eyes went dark.
"YOU INSOLENT!" Thimble screamed as Morte lifted up. Morte struggled to break free as i rushed in with the CurseBlay in hand.
"THIMBLE!!!" I yelled. He looked over and looked shocked at my approach. The Surukodo teleported into his hand. He lifted it up as I tried to cut his head off. The sister blades clanged and sparks spiraled as we traded blows. Thimble telekineticly chucked Morte onto me. We both stumbled. Thimble yelled annoyed as he brought back his staff. He twirled his staff and laughed.
"DIE!" Thimble yelled as lightning struck from the ceiling. I lifted the CurseBlay. It absorbed the magic. Thimble's eyes went wide.
"What!?" He yelled. I pointed it at Thimble. Morte held the music box as he got up. I positioned the CursBlay and pointed it at thimble. Almost by command the lightning zapped back out at thimble. Thimble screamed as he got electrocuted. Morte smirked.
Thimble stepped back and looked pissed. He rose his hand and a dark orb appeared in his hand. He chucked it at us. It looked like, what I had been told was a black hole, a magical substance that was supposed to mimic theorized anomalies in the cosmos. Morte grabbed onto me and flew up in the air as he did, the music box fell onto the ground. A piece of the box split off and fell to the ground. The black hole magic missed. Morte threw me up. I began a downward strike with my blade above thimble. He glared as he rose his blade to counter mine, I smirked and stuck out my foot with a spin, kicking him in the face. I jumped off of his face and dashed foward. he held his face with his hand before countering the CursBlay with the Surukodo. He then spun in a circle covering his sword in red before slashing against my torso. I flew back as I began to bleed.
Morte gasped and glared as I flew back into a wall. Morte ran to me.
"HA! Feel that! Feel that pain! That's the sorrow of my entire family! ME! You, Your family? I Despise it! Why does that traitorous Mortemer care so much about you Z!? Why Couldn't father care about..AH!" Thimble yelled mad. Morte glared as he picked up the music box. The lullaby played. I coughed some blood. The music box wasn't working anymore. His face went pale.
"What...no...NOO! WORK!" He yelled. Thimble smiled evilly.
"Awe....did I bloody the rose?" Thimble asked. I gasped, vision was going blurry.
"NO! FATHER!!!" Morte yelled. I coughed more, the pain was dizzying. Suddenly the CurseBlay began to glow a faint pink as I felt a burst of remarkable energy surge through me. I stood up. Morte wiped his tears.
"What?" Morte and Thimble muttered.
"Thimble. Didn't I tell you not to mess with me?" I asked. Thimble looked nervous before getting angry.
"SHUT UP PEASANT!" He screamed. He shot more lightning, but it reflected off of me. His eyes went wide.
"WHAT." He yelled. I walked forward and rose my blade.
"You...need to know that this is wrong, even if you were mistreated, by me or others. Overall...You will atone for your sins. I WILL HELP YOU SO." I remarked.
"No! If being, dark, evil, and insane is the way to prove I'm better then everything, then...THEN I WILL DO SO I WILL BE THE MOST VILE I CAN BE!!! MUHAHAHAHA!!!" Thimble yelled. His eyes went dark as he attempted to use telekinesis on me to no affect. He stopped dead in his tracks.
"What...no! no no no!!!" He yelled.
"Enough!!!! It's time for you to meet your dead end!!!!" I yelled. Thimble gasped as i rushed in and stabbed him in the heart. He gasped loudly as he looked at me horrified before life vanished from his eyes. He slumped over a dead corpse.
Thimble laid on the ground, lifeless. I smiled as I fell backwards and met the coolness of the dark bloody floor. Morte ran over to me and kneeled down.
"Father! Are you okay!?" He cried out. The glow in the CurseBlay vanished as the CurseBlay fell to dust.
The pain began to settle back in as I laid out on the floor. I smiled at Morte.
"You've been alive this whole time?" I asked. He had tears and nodded.
"We finally reunited! We can be together again." Morte replied. I smiled as I reached my hand out weakly and rubbed his cheek.
"No....I...Yes...Yes...we will always be together my child." I replied. My life was fading fast. Morte had his eye go teary.
"Thank you, for protecting me from that monster...You've made me so proud." I replied with a tear in my eye. Morte came close to my face.
"No! No Dad please! You can't even! Don't die please...!" Morte yelled back. I shushed him and smiled.
He tried playing the music box again. The melody made me smile. He looked at it demanding it to work. It would nevermore do so. It was beyond repair, for it to ever work again, time itself would fully have to break.
My life began to fade fast. I recollected on my life, seeing my son alive and strong...gave me the courage to finally embrace death.
"Son....I love...you..." I gurgled. He yelled out in sadness looking at me. I gave a small smiled and closed my eyes as I gave away to eternal sleep.
............................................................................................................................................
I opened my eyes, remembering Z and that damn Morte killing me. I looked around and felt my green hair. I smirked.
"I suppose death was not enough to kill me." I chuckled, before pausing on my odd choice of wording. I looked at the sword in my hand. It seems even the Surukodo's power exceeded what I thought possible. It had brought me back from death. I grinned evilly.
"Ah, so much more fun is to be had now." I announced to myself. In the distance a small green shard formed and took shape of which I was unaware of at the time. I grave foreshadowing of things to come.
