"No! Please stop!"
"We beg of you!"
These are the noise of the evil souls being plunged into the flames of sins that you would hear.
"Wahahahah!" these are also the thunderous laugh of Demons you would hear.
"Hahaha! If you didn't want this to happen to you, you should have been better humans." One Demon said while forking one soul into the fire.
"Please have mercy!" the sound of these souls begging for mercy echoed throughout hell.
Most Demons are having fun torturing and punishing the evil souls. Some would be plunged to the hottest flames of hell till they turn to ashes and swept by the wind, while on the other hand, some are frozen till they become numb.
Humans are beings or living bodies that contain the souls and ages as the time passes by, and as the body turns weaker and weaker, and would not be able to contain the soul anymore, the body would be buried back to the ground where the Almighty God has created them. The souls would then be released and would either enter the gates of Heaven or Hell.
There are different types of souls as there are also different types of humans. Though it is true that they differ from talent, intelligence, race, gender, nationality, and status in life, one thing is for sure, they will die and their souls will either enter the Gates of Hell or the Gates of Heaven.
Basically, I am a Demon, different from the others, I dislike torturing and punishing the souls, or more like, I dislike hearing the souls begging for mercy. Luckily, I was in charge of guiding the souls to their right destinations, depending on their behavior and the sins they have committed. It was Amadeus, the God of the Demons who put me to this place, I was able to persuade him not to make me punish sinful souls.
“What is this place?” One soul asked.
“Welcome to Hell.” I smiled at him but he only gave me a disgusted look. Does Demons really look that bad?
“No. It can’t be.” He said. “You must be kidding me. Hell doesn’t exist.” He added.
“Well apparently, you have now entered the gates of Hell,” I answered.
“No. No! It can’t be! This is a mistake!” He then started to go back to the entrance. I signaled the Grim Reapers to retrieve him back.
“No! Let me go!” He tried to free himself from their grips but can’t. “This is not fair!” he added.
“Not fair?” I chuckled. “Did you think what you did to other humans are fair to them?” I added.
“I did nothing wrong!” he continued on shouting.
“Did nothing wrong? Let’s see here.” I slashed my arms on the air and out came a piece of paper.
“Edwin Allegrio.” I started reading. “Age 39, died from liver failure.” I read the statements. “Might you please tell me what sins you have committed that have brought you here to Hell?” I asked him.
“I did nothing wrong.” He repeated himself. I sighed.
“Do you know who this is?” I asked him and showed a picture of a man.
“Yes. Yes, indeed. He is my friend.”
“Your friend?”
“Yes.”
“Then do you know who this is?” I showed him another picture, but of a woman.
“Oh yes. That is my beloved wife.” He answered and his face brightened.
“Your beloved wife? Or your friend's beloved love.” I said sarcastically.
“No. She is my wife. I am her husband. She is mine and will always be mine.”
“Is that the reason why you framed your dear friend just to make her yours?”
“No. It is his fault. He should not have interfered. I already told him that he cannot have that woman.”
“But did you know who she really loved?”
“They both loved each other for a long time. I was aware of that. I loved her too but she only looked at him.”
“So you framed him up and seduced her.”
“What else can I do? I love her.”
“Is that the only way?” I asked him and he started to cry. “Do you what happened to your friend after he was imprisoned and after knowing that his beloved girl was married to you?” I asked him.
“Why the hell should I care about what happens to him!” He said.
“He committed suicide. He killed himself thinking that it would be the best way to get out of your way and to forget the pain he is feeling.”
“Well, he deserved that. He always gets in my way, and whoever gets in my way will be punished severely.”
“Your even more sinful than I’ve thought.”
“How?! How have I become a sinful person when I only did these things for the person I love?!”
“If you truly love her, then you should have let her go to the person she loves. If you truly love one person, you’re ready to give them everything they want, including freedom.”
“No! She is mine only! I already gave her everything she wanted! Money! Jewelry! Pretty dresses! A wonderful life!”
“Hahahahaha!” I laughed. “How greedy can you be. Let’s stop this nonsense and get on with it.” I said and continued to read the paper I’m still holding. “
“Edwin Allegrio, brought to hell for committing all seven sins. Greed. Envy. Wrath. Lust. Sloth. Gluttony. Pride. You have committed a grave sin and even lied about your wrongdoings. You will be punished starting from the deepest part of Hell and will only move on to the next punishment if you confess for your sins.” I dictated.
“What?” he said in surprise.
“Throw him,” I ordered the Grim Reapers who are still holding both of his arms.
“No, wait!” He tried to stop them but he was too late. They have already tossed him to the deepest part of Hell which has the hottest flames that might burn his soul before he would even confess.
“What a pain,” I said to myself.
“How cruel.” Someone talked from my back.
“Ah. Lord Amadeus.” I bowed at him.
“Good work Serathiel. You’re doing a pretty good job in this position.” He complimented me.
“Thank you for giving me a chance to prove myself worthy of being one of your underlings.”
“Hahaha. Stop the formality. We’re all Demons here.” He said. “Just keep doing what you’re told to do and you’ll be fine.” He added and left.
“Next,” I called on to the next soul.
After a few more hours, Audi, my fellow Demon finally arrived. We take turns on this post because even us Demons can actually get tired. Usually, I wander around hell, far from the wailing souls and the farthest part is the dry grassy land of hell.
I laid down on the dry grass and closed my eyes. A few moments later, my lovely rest was disturbed by those freaky little Devil’s Minions swarming around something.
“Stupid Minions,” I mumbled to myself and was about to go back to sleep when I saw something not right about what those Minions.
I moved closer to where they are but got surprised when something came out. It was an angel’s wings. They are swarming around an Angel and the Angel is trying to free itself from being caged in their swarm.
I flapped my wings as hard as I could and they all flew away. I looked down on what they have left behind and I saw an Angel covered in scratches and bruised.
I carried the angel onto my back and hid her under my wings so that no one would notice. Slowly walking down the path to my shelter, I tried to keep quiet and tried to act naturally so that no one would suspect I am hiding something.
But then, I met one of my fellow Demons walking the opposite way I am going. I just walked past him trying not to make contact so that he won't notice.
"Stop right there!" someone stopped me. I was frozen.
