I am like cornstarch and water;
Simple.
You can break me, tear me to pieces--
then, by some means, I come together again.
You can stand on me, but honey,
don’t be surprised when I let you sink under pressure.
I’ll stick to you even if you want me off,
And somehow after all the playing, I melt right back to how I was.
Yes, I look boring, plain and nothing interesting,
something that needs color to be noticed.
But my friends know who I really am;
a crazy science experiment that you can’t explain.
Sure, I’m a mess,
a two-ingredient kid’s toy that’s hard to pick up;
interesting for only for five minutes.
But, Baby, I’m a non-Newtonian fluid.
Time independent and tough under stress.
I’m like magma and vanilla extract,
and you are just Newtonian.
Water under the bridge.
So I’m happy with cornstarch and water life,
it’s simple, but then again, really not.
