From somewhere abandoned
Kudzu and morning glory choke each other (1)
Over tinted glass panes.
Broken and faded light seep through the cracks
And shines in the dust.
Through a door rusted shut, (2)
Kept in breaking pots; ornamental plants
Spilling up, the leaves gathered the shards of light
dropping down pigmented bells (3)
Orange, white, purple and pink,
Point to the ground and let out a toxic air.
An understory filled with decaying leaves.
Spider webs, and a rot that wasn’t all flora. (4)
Weak vein-like vines crawl where they can,
Inching to light like hands to heaven.
Insects flourish in the sauna
Feeding off the forms
Bloated and half eaten in the steam
Lost in the jungle. (5)
