Feb 13, 2019

As I pulled into Jason Terry's driveway I couldn't help but applaud him. The house was built into a carved place inside a cliff, the wood and stone work of the entire building had been colored and designed to look like a natural part of the cliff. If it hadn't been for the lights of the inside of the house showing and the cars parked in the driveway, I would have thought I had come to the right place.

Jason stood in the driveway smiling at me as I drove up into the driveway. I put down the window, "Anywhere that you specifically want me to park?" I asked.

Jason nodded and pointed to a shaded area under a heavy canopy of trees, "Over there if you will, I have a car cover I'm going to put on your car so it doesn't get dirty.

I gave him a short nod and drove over to the spot and parked my car. I watch in the rearview mirror as Jason disappeared into the house I pulled out a sheet of paper from the visor. I unfolded it to reveal a letter reading,

Stage One of your mission has been completed, now you must move on to Stage 2. Jason Terry will invite you to his household where you will remain for a couple days. On March 12th, we will send three other assassins to help finish the job. Make sure that all members of the family is deceased and that all evidence linking The Institute to the accident is disposed of.

At the bottom of the letter was a printed red I encased in a circle, the insignia of The Institute. I let out a sigh and put the paper back and grabbed my bag before getting out of the car just as Jason exited the building carrying a giant grey-green tarp. "Do you need help?" I asked moving towards him to lend my services.

He shook his head, "No, I got it, you go on inside and meet the family. They're in the living room."

I gave him a small smile and walked up the stairs into the house. I was hit with the soft smell of vanilla and the laughter of a little girl. I walked down the short hall into an open plan room with the kitchen and living room separated by an island. Both the kitchen and living room was modern in design with white cabinets and furniture. Sitting in front of the fire place was a little girl, with thick golden locks of hair falling around her. A wide smile was spread across her face as she watched a boy, whom I assumed was her brother making weird faces. There were to girls sitting to the boys left side both with dirty blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and freckles. They both looked exactly the same wearing a blue summer dress, a smile plastered on their faces as the watched their brother play with their sister. In the far corner sitting in a chair with her legs tucked under her was a little girl with light brown hair. She was wearing a black dress and was hugging a teddy bear that had lost its left eye and ear. Little green eyes stared at me over the head of the bear. I gave her a small smile and she gave me a shy wave.

A hand suddenly rested on my shoulder and I looked down to see a woman smiling up at me. She had bright green eyes and a warm smile with her brown hair pulled back into a messy bun. Freckles dotted her face and her cheeks were a rosy color, "You must be Blake Dawson. My name is Marie and I'm Jason's wife. It's nice to meet you." She offered her hand and I took it, giving her a firm shake which she returned, "Children, Mr. Dawson is here. Come say hello."

All the kids looked up at me and got up and began to walk over. The boy was first to introduce himself, "My name is Matthew and this is my little sister May." he said patting the top of the little girls head who let a meek hello.

"My name is Corrin," one of the older girls said and then pointed to the other girl who looked like her, "And this is my twin sister Fern."

The other little girl with the brown hair still sat in the corner, clutching her bear, eyes locked on me. "And who is that?" I asked.

Matthew turned and looked at the little girl, "Her name is Gillian, she's the youngest and she's pretty shy. Are you not gonna come say hello."

The girl simply sat and stared at me, I heard Marie sigh beside me, "I'm sorry if she appears to be coming off as rude, she's always been like that. She'll come to you when she's ready, just give her some time."

I gave her a smile, "It's fine, I understand."

Marie smiled warmly back, "Alright then, everyone you can go back to what you were doing, I'm going to be showing Mr. Dawson where he will be staying."

Marie lead me down the hall that was to the left of the kitchen. She led me up a small step of stairs and then down another short hallway. She opened the door at the end of the hall to reveal a large room. The entire back wall was glass with a sliding door leading out onto a balcony which overlooked the sea.All the walls were lined with bookshelves filled with books. Set on the left wall between two bookshelves was a large bed with red velvet covers. To the right was a seperate doorway which I assumed lead either a bathroom or a closet (possibaly both). Marie gave me another warm smile, "This is where your going to be staying. I hope you like it and sorry about the mess. My husband loves his books and because we didn't have any where else to store them I put them in here."

I smiled at her again, "Oh, its fine, the room actually looks wonderful. Thank you."

Marie smiled again, "Alright then, I'll leave you for now. I'm going to start dinner so come down when you're ready. Ok."

I nodded my agreement and she left without another word. I entered the room and closed the door behind me. I put my bag at the foot of the bed and then collapsed on the bed, letting out a heavy sigh before pulling my phone from out of my pocket. The date and time was displayed on the screen: 4:46, March 15th. Five days until March 20th. Five days. Five days. Why did I have a bad feeling about these next five days.

*This is a part of a running series I am making. The parts will be split up, each being 10 or more chapters long. This is the first part of said series called The Supernatruals: The Broken Prophecy*

I have never know emotion. I know the meaning of the word but not what comes with it. I know nothing of sadness, anger, pain, or even happiness. I am only a void...and a killer...an assassin. The humans have trained me well, better than most. I have never disobeyed their word. I am always under the influence of the pill. But when the pill stopped working and the dreams began to become haunting, I became something else. I became no longer theirs...I became my own...
