Here I am... My arms wrapped tightly around a stranger's waist, the wind blowing through my long, curly hair, and my heart torn to pieces.
Reality came rushing back all at once. Where am I going to live? What am I going to tell my family? WHO GETS CUSTODY OF PEACHES THE CAT??? But at this moment... Who is this man I have entrusted my life with?
With all of the thoughts swirling around in my mind I didn't even notice we had crossed in to a more rural area. The road was narrow and trees surrounded it. I hadn't seen a single car pass buy since my observations began.
After a little while longer we pulled in to a driveway of a small one-story house. I checked my phone to see what time it was... No service, greeeat.
The man began walking toward the house without saying a word to me. I followed.
"It's not much, but make yourself at home. I'll put on some coffee." He said.
Inside was a small kitchen to the left of the doorway. Straight ahead was a living room with your standard furniture. There was a window from the kitchen into the living room so I watched him as he made the coffee.
This is my first time really getting a good look of this stranger. He's tall... Probably around 6'2. He has dark, slightly-messy hair that comes down almost to his eyes. His eyes... They are a very deep blue, almost black. And his body... He's got to be a regular at the gym. Dark blue jeans hung low on his hips paired with a leather jacket, and steel-toed boots. I didn't know anything about this man, so studying him was my best bet for now.
"Enjoying the view?" He smirked.
I blinked realizing I was leaning on the couch's armrest with my chin perched in my hand, full-on staring at him.
"I...er... Was daydreaming." I blushed.
He slid off his jacket and tossed it on a bar stool in the kitchen. He was wearing a wife beater and his muscular arms were covered in tattoos. He walked over to the couch and handed me a cup of coffee.
"I'm sure you know my name by now because Mr. Cheater belted it out about a million times, but what's your name? You saved my life and rescued me from an extremely uncomfortable situation, I would like to thank you properly." I said.
"The name's Lincoln, but everyone calls me Link." He replied.
"Well Link, thank you. Seriously, I am indebted to you big time."
"So you're saying you owe me, Claire?" Link said with a cocky smile.
"...I suppose?" I hesitated.
"I'll definitely cash in on that favor soon... I already have something in mind."
*gulp*
