Hi there! My name is Anna and if you asked me to describe myself a few months back, I would have talked about how I was an average high school student with an average home life, average friends, average grades, and I even had an average boyfriend. Honestly I thought my life was pretty mediocre… Until one innocent favor turned my life upside down.
*Two months ago*
“Ugggghhhh.” Myah sighed as she slid into the desk beside mine. “I swear if one more person quits the Christian Chicken I am going to go insane. I have been picking up everyone’s slack and it’s killing me.”
“That’s rough, My” I replied. (My= my nickname for Myah) “I know you love your job, but you shouldn’t work yourself to the bone as a student.
Myah is one of my best friends. She’s a tall, curvy brunette with big, brown, doe-eyes. We have known each other since elementary school, but have become even closer in high school.
“You know what would lighten my work load? If you started working with me.” Myah smirked.
“Yeah, yeah. You know I would if my mom would let me.” I sighed.
My mother is a very loving, very overprotective woman that doesn’t believe students should work unless they are in a dire situation.
Myah snatched my phone out of my hand and dialed my mom.
“Hey!” I exclaimed.
“Helllllooooo, Mrs. Anderson!” Myah sang. “Yes I’m doing great how about yourself?” “Mhm, yes. Yes. I just had to ask you a quick question. Could Anna start working at the Christian Chicken with me? It’s a wonderful first-time job and it will teach her responsibility and everyone is a hard-working Christian! Yes, uh huh, OMG YES THANK YOU SO MUCH MRS. ANDERSON!!” *click*
My eyes widened in shock.
“GUESS WHO IS STARTING AT THE CHRISTIAN CHICKEN!” Myah yelled.
“I’m super impressed that you got my mom to agree, but ‘everyone is a hard-working Christian’?? My, you’re an atheist and yelled at the customers so much they exiled you to the kitchen.” I laughed.
“Eh, small details” She shrugged. “All that matters is my best friend is going to be working with me now!”
“Yeah, I’m honestly pretty excited” I smiled.
“So am I! There’s just one thing I have to warn you about… You are a ‘girl next door’ cute and innocent kind of girl… That is exactly his type.”
