Pulling into the drive of my childhood home I could tell that no one was home. I turn off the engine and pull out my phone to see if Casey wanted to came over, since she’s like my only friend.

Sky: Hey, it’s Sky. I know we just met today, but do you want to hang out tonight? 

While waiting for her reply I went inside and ran up to my room. Once I’m in I shut the door behind me and plop onto my bed. Just as I’m about to get under my blanket, I hear a ping come from my phone.

Casey: Hey! I would love to hang out just send me the address and I’ll be over in about an hour or so. 

After sending her my address I put my phone on my night stand and snuggled up under the blanket. A little 30-minute nap never hurt anyone.

I’m waken up by Loud banging coming from down stairs. I look at the time on my phone and see that its 5:23. “Shit!” I run down stairs and open the door to see Casey with her fist up about to bang on the door again. As soon as she sees me, she puts her fist down and smiles from ear to ear.

“Hey Girl! I thought I would have to bring the door down for you to hear me.” We both laugh as I let her in and shut the door behind her. When I turn around I see Casey walking around until she finds the kitchen and starts going through the fridge.

"What you have to eat in here? I'm Starving!" She said while exaggerating the V. I just laugh and pull out a pot and a couple boxes of Mac and cheese.

"Mac and Cheese is fine with you right?" I ask looking back at her.

"Yass Bitch!!" We both burst out in laughter from that comment and I start boiling water. We made small talk while the food was cooking, and didn't talk at all while we were eating. After we were done eating we decided to watch a movie.

We were in the middle of watching the live action The Jungle Book when I heard the door knob turn and my parents walk in the living room. Once they saw that I had someone over their faces lit up almost instantly. Casey was too focused on the movie and the popcorn, that is until she shoved the last bit into her mouth.

"we're out of..." when she turned around she immediately tried to swallow what was in her mouth and smiled.

"Hi!!! My name's Casey!" she ran over to my dad first and shook his hand before running to my mom and giving her a hug. Of Course my mom hugged back while my dad just looked confused. I mentally palmed my face before getting up and giving them both a hug.

When Casey finally let go of my mom, we all just stood there not knowing what to say. After 5-minutes of awkward silence Casey decided it was pretty late and went home, After she left my parents just stared at me waiting for me to say something.

"So that was Casey, My friend from school." I said while turning my back to them and walking into the kitchen.

"She seems nice..." my dad says awkwardly. My dad doesn't really like new people, which is ironic because my mom is the type of person that will tell her whole life story to someone she met on the street that very same day.

My mom and dad both work in real state. We moved here because my dad wanted me to have a normal life. When we lived in California I kept to myself most of the time, which is why my parents reacted that way with Casey. There aren't many nice people in Cali, in my old school there were rich spoiled brats and that's not the type of people I wanted to hang around. So instead of making friends I focused on my studies.

My dad pulls me out of my thoughts when he walks upstairs to their bedroom and my mom follow suit. After I finish cleaning up from me and Casey I run up to my bedroom and change into a cami and pajama shorts.

After the day I’ve had I am so ready to get in bed and sleep all my stress away. I jump in my bed and get under the blanket, just as my phones pings telling me that I got a text.

Unknown: Hey. How are you?

Sky: Um… Who is this and how did you get my number?

I waited for a reply but didn't get one so I decided I would deal with it in the morning
