"Man, what was up with you there for a minute?" Brett says raising a brow.
"Yeah, you totally zoned out on us" Phillip remarks.
"Her..." I exhale heavily looking down at my hands on the table. A few beads of sweat forming on my forehead. I continually clutch my fist and release as my palms become sweaty.
"Yeah? What about her? She is obviously new and didn't know we are regulars and that we order the same thing every time." Phillip laughs as if he were making fun of the young waitress.
"No, no. It's not that" I sigh.
"She's, I don't know, she's different." Turning to look over at the waitress as she stands on her tip toes gathering glasses from the top shelf of the bar's liquor cabinet.
"Look the real reason I called you here is to discuss some stipulations father has put on the head position." Returning my focus back to my companions.
Brett clears his throat, "what stipulations would those be?" his face shifting to a concerned look.
"Well..." pausing for a moment.
"First off, he wants me to conduct the main business from now on."
"Man, that's great news! One step closer to victory!" Brett exclaims.
"That's not all Brett! Let me finish." I sigh loudly looking back at my sweaty hands on the table.
"He expects me to find..." clenching my fist once more, causing my knuckles to go white "a woman."
Phillip begins to chuckle. Holding a stern and frustrated face I glance over at Phillip.
"Wait, you're serious?" Phillip stops in shock. "So you like have to fall in love and get married?"
"Yeah, I'm serious. Something about the strongest leaders have a strong woman by their side. Or something to that extent." Closing my eyes and shaking my head. Still in disbelief of my father.
"And no, he said nothing about love or marriage just that I need to have a woman by my side before he will hand the torch to me and not just a stick without a flame."
I roll my eyes in frustration. My gaze then returns to the waitress as she fills the glasses. Something about her is alluring.
The way her ripped jeans contour to every curve of her body. Her eyes. They are like the greenest meadow with a dusting of glitter. Her blonde hair falls over her shoulders and down her back, the soft curls bounce with every movement.
My eyes follow her in lust and Brett chimes in, "what about her?"
Returning my look swiftly back to Brett, "What do you mean, "what about her?""
"Well, I'm just saying. She seems to be new in town, and it wouldn't take much for you to charm her away from this bar and into your car." Brett chuckles a bit.
Phillip chimes in before Brett can finish, "Plus, if she's new in town I doubt anyone would notice if she went missing."
I shake my head, "Gentlemen, I'm surprised at you. I'm not going to kidnap the poor girl."
Turning my head with a thoughtful look on my face, "However, she wouldn't be a bad option. And she would look great for appearances."
Continuing to think to myself, Brett and Phillip sit impatiently waiting for a response. I look over at the waitress and then back to them.
"Alright, I'll try and charm her as a first resort. These things take time." Flashing a quick grin as he glances over to her.
"I mean, if things don't work out, then I guess we will try it your way." I smirk at the two. Then looks over to her, noticing that she is on her way back over to the table with a tray of drinks in hand.
"For starters, I have to find out who she is."
