"I hate him... he's a jerk to you." I tried to calm my sister down. "H-He saved my life. The least I could do is be friendly with him." she sighed angrily as our dad walked in. "Hey girls. I brought food! Well, I gotta grill it but, it's here!" Dad's a detective & a really good one at that; his brown hair is cut really short & he wears round glasses. His shirt is a Metallica long sleeve, jeans & normal combat boots. His freckles curve up on his face naturally. "Finally, I'm starving!" Jone remarks. Dad smiles at me, but frowns. "You ok?" I nodded. "Yeah... um... I'm ok. So, what'd you bring?" he took out bags of shrimp & got cooking.
"Man, I'm stuffed." Jone said & soon stood up. "I'm gonna go practice. The guys have finally decided on a sound for us. Lilly, you wanna come?" I shook my head. "Not tonight. I still have homework to do; tell them I said hi." she nodded & ran out. Dad looked at me. "You ok? You seem down. Are you taking your medicine?" I nodded. "Yeah, yeah... it's just... I've been having flashbacks." he sighed, hugging me tight.
"Honey-"
"I'm ok! Really, it's just... I remember a lot more now."
"Like what?"
"There was a guy... but he looked... odd."
"Odd how?"
"Um... you know the things I see? He was like that but... more human."
"I can put out a APB on h-"
"No, no... it's fine. But I just have one question."
I stared at my adopted father. "Where's my birth father?"
He sighed. "I... I don't really know. I had a idea... he was last seen at this church. Now, are you sure you want to do this? Last time you saw him it was... not the best circumstance." I nodded. "Yeah... maybe he can explain why I can see these things. Besides, he just wanted me to be safe. It's why he sent me home with you." He put his hand on my shoulder. "Is it getting any better?" I shrugged. "I guess... I'm not as afraid anymore but..." I sighed. "John is like me. He knows how to... exorcise them I guess, or at least build of a resistance against them." he nodded. "You know your great-great aunt was a Voodoo priestess. We can't see like you, but we can feel it; it's probably why Jonesie doesn't like John that much. She feels something from him." I shrugged. "He's a good guy... yeah, he's a bit cold towards me, but he's nice enough." he messed up my hair. "Get some sleep Lilly Pad. Love you." he kissed me on the forehead & I went to sleep.
About two weeks later the dreams kept coming back. It was of a man the color of hot chocolate with golden eyes. He was carrying me like a princess & staring blankly ahead. I was deep in meditation in a park; the power coming from me attracted several Devils & Gazers. I felt & noticed everything somehow, but a certain Devil wouldn't shut up; it was the same guy that tried to attack me & the same one that Blade hit with the car. If only he had been hit a little harder... anyway, he had decided to be friendly with me. His name was Keith & he was hanging from a tree like a monkey. "C'mon babe. Can we go now? This is sooooooooooooo boring. Can't we, I dunno, go somewhere?" I ignored him; after a while, Blade spoke up next.
"Lillian, I think you should give this a r-"
"No... I need to do this..."
"But-"
"I need this... I've been having dreams & he's always tied to my mom."
"Lillian..."
"No!"
Tears began to stream down my face; as I wiped them away, something was off. "G-Gold... why am I-" there was a bright gold color shining on the ground; the cement began to crack, Devils were vaporized & Gazers flew off, leaving only me, Blade & Keith left. A ten sided star started glowing brightly & a enormous black paw started to reach out. All three of Cerberus massive heads rose out of the ground, staring at me with it's piercing yellow eyes. "L-Lillian... m-my Queen... y-you... m-m-mustn't cry..." a paw extended towards me, but wall of red flame shielded me. Chanting, Blade called out to it. "BEGONE GUARDIAN! YOU ARE NOT NEEDED HERE!" with a ringing howl, the dog vanished. "How... Lillian... Lillian!" I blacked out.
I sat up in my own room, my dad watching over me. "Hey Lilly Pad." I sat up but my head began to pound. "Woah, woah, woah, slow up... John brought you back over here. Got hit by a stray baseball..." I looked around to see an odd figurine in the corner. "Where'd that come from?" my dad shrugged; I picked it up. It was a Cerberus.
