It would've made sense for me to post this last week on the actual date... but I didn't really have time and that seems like a bit much. Rest in peace Lemonade Coyote. You will be missed.
In everyone's eyes, 24 year old Timothy McCormick was one of the kindest furs that ever was in the fandom. Tim lived in Indianapolis and went to school in Regis High School in New York, then to Saint Lawrence University, and finally came back home to work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
February 16th of 2013 at 3:30 on Saturday, an ambulance was crashed into by an SUV. The SUV driver who had slammed into the ambulance was a 21 year old drunk driver who had went through a red light. No criminal charges were put on the driver and both vehicles were speeding.
"The ambulance flipped onto it's side and slid half a block" said a witness interviewed by Fox 59 News. The crash wounded Timothy along with another 22 year old EMT named Cody Medley despite them wearing seatbelts. They were rushed to the hospital in critical condition where Tim was confirmed dead. Cody later died of his wounds too.
The two EMT's were well known in the public safety community, resulting in the mourning of firefighters, policemen, and doctors alike. On the organization's website, Indianapolis EMS chief Dr. Charles Miramonti said "The entire Indianapolis EMS family is deeply saddened by the news of our fallen brother. Tim was a heroic provider, but he was also a wonderful colleague and friend to us all."
He helped so many people in the short span of his career and was a genuinely good person. If he had stayed around a little longer, he could've helped so many more.
