There was no such thing as a normal day in Jamie’s life, for they were different from everyone else’s; still, by now they were just old regular days.
Waking up to her beautiful girlfriend’s face right next to her every morning was pure bliss. The way her nose scrunched up in her sleep was adorable, and Lyn couldn’t help but kiss Jamie’s forehead every single time.
And every single time, as she’d slowly awake, Jamie would cuddle ever closer to her and hide her face in Lyn’s neck, giving her languid kisses as she held her tight..
Cute.
No wonder she was the first person Lyn was ever interested in.
Love.
What a simple word, so unimaginably unable to explain the magnitude of feelings either of them felt.
Jamie always had a harder time getting up, and if it was any other day Lyn would have insisted on it, but it was their day off and she felt so wonderfully loved she couldn’t bring herself to move.
Drifting off to sleep once again, in the arms of her sweet warrior, Lyn mumbled, “Love you.”
XXX
“How long have we been together?” Jamie randomly asked as she folded clothes.
“I guess long enough that you can’t remember. You’re getting old sweetheart.”
“Can you blame me? One look at you and I even forget how to breathe.”
As Jamie finished talking, Lyn rolled her eyes, even though a small smile still tugged on her lips, “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Dropping the clothes in her hands, Jamie got up and hugged Lyn from behind, sweetly kissing the back of her neck, “You’re cuter though.”
Lyn could just melt in her embrace, but not right now.
“As much as I’m loving the TLC, I’m ironing right now, so you could let me go-”
“I will, if you kiss me.” Jamie interrupted her.
That smile...oh that smile was just like kryptonite, and Lyn would do anything for Jamie just to have that smile. Grabbing her chin, Lyn kissed her nose, after all Jamie hadn’t specified exactly where.
“Cheater.”
“Yeah yeah, poor you.”
Jamie quickly pecked Lyn’s lips and let her go, showing Lyn her tongue in a childish manner.
Sitting back down on the couch, folding the rest of their clothes, Jamie looked at the love of her life and smiled. She truly was the luckiest person in the world. All the past pain she went through was nothing compared to the happiness of her future.
The pain would never disappear, but if anything Lyn showed her that life wasn’t about the pain, it was about the happiness in between.
