Andy gets off the elevator on his floor and sees Greg coming back from grabbing some coffee. Greg joins him as they walk back towards their desks. “How’d it go?” The fly-man chided as he nudged the exhausted human beside him.
“Well, I don’t think I need to call HR… yet.” Greg lets out a loud, singular laugh. “Is it even HR down here? Cause I’m the only human so…” Andy turns to Greg with an inquisitive glance.
Greg rubs his head with one of his many arms. “Never really thought about it. I guess we call it that cause it’s what you all do on Earth.”
Andy shrugs, turning the corner into his cubicle. “Well, either way, succubi are crazy. And I don’t mess with crazy.”
“Well…” Grege tilts his head back and forth. “Not all succubi are crazy. Morgan definitely is and a lot of them are but I wouldn’t say all. So what I’m saying is you’re racist.” Greg chuckles softly as he takes his seat.
“Ah. Thank you, Greg. Now I feel fantastic.” Andy throws his arms out in exaggeration before letting them slap back down to his sides.
“What about Andy being racist?” It appeared that Andy’s torture wasn’t over as Becky appears from around the corner.
“Andy is racist towards demons.” Greg’s response is dry and he doesn’t even bother to turn away from his computer.
“I’m not racist towards demons.” Andy turns from Greg to Becky in an annoyed frustration.
“Wow, Andy, I didn’t know you were racist.” Becky raises her eyebrows in a feigned half shock.
“I’m not racist!” Andy’s eyes go wide with exasperation as he pleads for understanding.
“I don’t know. Sounds like something a racist would say.” Greg turns away from his monitor and leans back to look up at Andy.
“Really? We’re there now?” He looks disappointedly at his fly friend.
“Yeah.” Becky gestures towards Greg and nods. “I’m more inclined to believe him on this one.”
“What? Why?” Andy’s expression turns to one of confusion as he holds his hand out towards the fly.
“Cause he’s a demon.” Becky shrugs with a straight face. “I’d trust a demon over a human any day.”
“Whoa! That’s racist!” Andy points at her with a furrowed brow.
“No it’s not.” Her expression doesn’t change.
“How is that not racist?” Andy lets his voice drop and looks to Greg for support.
“Nah, not racist.” Greg shakes his head at the confused human.
“Regardless, your blatant racism isn’t the point right now, Andy.” Andy lets out a defeated sigh at her words. “You two wanna go get drinks after work?”
The mere mention of alcohol sends Andy’s insides into a whirl of nausea. “Yeah, sure.” Clearly his brain didn’t care.
“Alright” Greg shrugs his four shoulders. “You want to invite Lucifer?” He looks at Andy as he seems to know their boss better.
“You guys really hang out with him?” Becky looks back and forth between the men with a surprised expression.
“Sometimes, yeah. I was with him last night.” Andy hadn’t thought it weird until now, realizing he had been hanging out with his boss every night since arriving in Hell.
“Yeah, he likes Andy.” Greg’s response elicits a devilish grin from Becky.
“Oooh.” She lets her voice swoon with childish delight. “Do you think he like-likes Andy?” Her stupidity causes her to giggle at the stupid and simple joke.
“A - what are you, twelve? And B - No.” Andy is quick to defend his smoky friend. “Besides, I’m not even into-”
“Demons?” Greg was fast, as if waiting on that very sentence to be said. “You racist fuck.”
“What?! That’s not even what I was gonna say!”
“Sure it wasn’t… Racist.” Greg pushes the joke again.
“We all know you were thinking it, Andy.” Becky’s grin grows at his misfortune.
“This really is hell.” Andy gives them both a straight face and wide eyes denoting a serious level of annoyance.
“What? You’re the only human in an office of demons.” Becky crosses her arms confidently. “Did you think we weren’t gonna torture you?”
“What’s going on?” Lucifer’s black, misty form floats over to the trio.
“Not much.” Greg replies. “Andy’s just being racist.”
“Andy! You’re being racist? I thought you were better than that.” Lucifer’s voice was playfully disappointed.
Andy points his fingers and sweeps across to point at all three demons. “I hate all of you.” He takes a moment to think about his words before letting anyone else speak. “And no, it’s not because you’re demons.”
