The moon was so bright in the dark sky. The only sound that anyone can hear is the leaves rustling from the chilling wind. She was in middle of the forest picking up wild mushrooms and small blue flowers that only bloom on a full moon night. She wasn't scared because she had been here so many times and the moonlight is with her tonight as well. Then the wind died down and she finished picking up the last flower on the ground. She stood up and walked back home.

Just outside the forest there is a little cottage. Inside a woman is standing in front of a big cauldron.

"Zi-za-boom! Show me where she is!" the women said moving her hand above the boiling cauldron. As she does that there were green sparks on the tip of her fingers. 

"Its not appearing!" the flapping creature on her right says. 

"Where is she!? Let's be quiet or the person in the living room will hear us," the woman decided.

The girl finally returned to her home and opened the front door. Cling-Cling-Cling~

"Mom I'm home !" she said naturally.

She saw a hooded man in black cape and gasped! 

"Mom who is this suspicious person in the living room?" she called out to her mom.

One of the doors in the living room opened and her mom came out.

"Oh, Jayviet! Here you are, I've been looking for you," Jayviet's mom said in a clam voice. As she closed the door the flapping creature hide behind her.

"I will be going back. I shall come and pick you up tomorrow morning," the hooded mysterious man walked out of the house with a deep voice. 

Jayviet closed her eyes and sigh when she open her eyes again she could see how her mom was excited about something. "Jayviet, you have been chosen to study at the Crowny Princess Palace! When you go and study there you'll get to live in the dorms, eat good foods, learn to be a full manner girl, read as much as books you like and be happy! What's more is that everything is going to be for free! Tomorrow the hooded man is going to come pick you up!" Jayviet's mom was so excited that anyone can see these sparks in her eyes. 

"You're so lucky Jayviet," said the flapping creature who have now came out from hiding.

"Hey, Vege I'm home," said Jayviet.

Vege is a bat with a cat body, two cat arms on the front, a pair of bird legs on the bottom, and with bat wings on his back. He also have cat whiskers and adorable friendly big eyes!

Vege grew up with Jayviet and since then he has been her only best friend. 

"Wait a minute," Jayviet thought for a second.

'That means I'll have to face those rich people, obey their rules and do everything they say!' 

Jayviet turned to face her mom and said, " But I have already devoted myself to live in this forest for the rest of my life! If I go there I can't use my magic anymore!"

Jayviet's mom didn't say anything for a while until Vege noticed something.

"You're not going to...!" before Vege could finish his sentence.

Jayviet's mom took off her glasses and then from her lips these words were said, "YOU MUST GO BY ALL MEANS!!! NO MORE EXCUSES!!!" her mom roars like a lion as the whole house got an voice-quake. 

"The neighbors are going to complain," said Vege worried.

"Mom you don't need to do this in the middle of the night," Jayviet said still knowing that its too late. 

Jayviet's mom got so happy that she was jumping up and down. She even forgot about the pair of glasses on the floor.  

Jayviet's room was quiet like the rest of the forest. She had a wooden desk, a wooden chair, a tall wide wardrobe, and a well round carpet with a Jack 'O lantern face on the floor. Jayviet sat on her bed and sigh. She turn to look at Vege who was holding a yellow long sleeves dress with black round collar. 

"Why go through all the troubles. I could just ware my old ones from the closet," said Jayviet feeling lazy. 

Duk-duk, just then there was a knock on the door. The door opened and it was her mom.

"Oh, you are still not asleep. I guess you're too excited for tomorrow, her mom smiled and walked in holding something in her hand. 

'I'm not excited! In fact I'm depressed!' Jayviet thought.

Her mom handed over a long white paper box, "here this is a wand I keep for you just in case a day like this might come." 

'But it's night time,' Jayviet reminded in her head.

"Don't let anyone know that you are a witch," Jayviet's mom said as she and Vege smile together.  

'I wish this was just a dream. Or perhaps a nightmare' Jayviet told her self.
