Lexy could see herself sitting across from Christine. “This is weird,” Lexy thought.
Christine was talking “…you see that is why I can’t be your friend anymore.”
What!!!! Below Dream Lexy said, “I understand.” Dream Lexy had really red puffy eyes. “What is this about?”
Real Lexy tried to cry out to Dream Lexy, “No, this is not ok. Don't take this well, take this hard.” Dream Lexy didn’t even look up, but Dream Christine did. She looked up and seemed annoyed. “That’s interesting,” thought Real Lexy.
“Is there something wrong?” Dream Lexy asked. Christine’s attention whipped back to her.
“No, nothing is wrong. Now get out of my house. I never want to see you again,” Christine said with a new coldness in her voice.
“I know that voice it’s …”
Lexy woke up in a cold sweat. “I have to call Christine. Good thing that I keep my phone right next to my bed.” Lexy reached out with her right hand and … “Ahhh. It’s not there. Oh yeah, I forgot to get it out. It’s still in my bookbag.”
Lexy slowly got up and went to her book bag. She opened the phone pocket and got her phone. Lexy then called Christine.
“Sorry that it was such late notice, Mrs.Smith,” Lexy said as she went into Christine’s house.
“Please call me Ann, Lexy,” Mrs.Smith said assaulting Lexy with cookies.
“Ann,” Lexy mouthed as she took a cookie. Christine shrugged, also taking a cookie.
“Well,” Ann inquired. “Did you bring everything you need?”
“Yes, thank you,” Lexy looked at Christine, “Ann.”
“You are very welcome,” Ann answered. “If there is anything I can get for you, just ask.”
Christine rolled her eyes and pushed herself off the counter. “Thank you, mom, but I think Lexy needs some rest.” She walked over to Lexy and started to push her towards Christine’s room.
“But…,” Lexy started.
Christine whispered in her ear, “I’m trying to get you out of this. My mom could go on like this all night.”
“Ok,” Lexy replied. “Then thank you.” Both girls laughed.
“Come on,” started Christine. “Let’s get some sleep.”
“Ok,” Lexy replied. “There was something I wanted to tell you about.”
“What was it?” Christine asked
“I can’t remember,” Lexy said. “Oh well.”
“It must not have been that important,” Christine replied.
