Lexy woke up on the floor. “Weird dream,” she said. She cracked her back. She got up off the floor and went downstairs to eat breakfast.
When she got downstairs, she saw Madam Vile and Raven whispering to each other. Raven seemed upset, and Madam Vile seemed to be trying to convince her of something.
“Hello, am I interrupting anything?” Lexy asked.
Madam Vile whipped around. “What?” She started to say.
“Look we don’t need many words. I’m hungry, is there anything to eat?”
“You seem to have forgotten your place, Lexy,” Madam Vile sneered.
“Why am I acting so brave? I kinda like it,” Lexy thought. “Yeah, so, I’ll go get some cereal.” Lexy went over to the cupboard and poured herself some cereal. She looked back over and saw Madam Vile and Raven staring at her with their mouths open.
“What?” Lexy asked.
They still looked dumbstruck when Raven said, ”Nothing, you little nothing. Get your bag we're going shopping.”
“Can I bring Christine?” Lexy said.
“No,” Raven started to say, but Madam Vile interrupted her.
“But, of course.”
“Really?” Lexy asked amazed.
“Why not?” Madam Vile replied. “Go call her.”
“What was that about, Mother?” Raven asked, clearly upset.
“The best way for me to take care of that fairy is to meet her so I can take her out,” Madam Vile said.
Ring, Ring, Ring. “Come on, Christine, pick up,” Lexy said into the phone.
“Hello?” Christine said sounding sleepy.
“Hey, Christine. I just wanted to invite you to the mall. Madam Vile, Raven, and I are going.”
“Madam Vile, Raven, and you are going? She’s really letting you?”
“Yeah, I know. You want to come?”
“Hhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ok. Let me just drag myself out bed, at what, 7:00 on a Sunday to hang out with you.”
“Yay!! See you!!”
“Goodbye.”
Lexy was so excited. She finally got to be like all the regular girls, and she didn’t even realize that it was suspicious that Madam Vile was letting this happen.
