The tea slips over the side of the cup as I bring myself to a sudden stop on my way into the dining room causing me to curse out loud. This, of course, grabs the attention of the three men sitting around the dining table. Rodney looks over with a small smile and mouths 'I'm half sorry' before winking.

"Oh, thank you for the tea, Sugar, you are too good to me! Would you mind making one for our guests? I would like for them to feel welcome in our home." He asks with a mischievous glint in his eye as he takes my cup of tea out of my hands. He isn't looking at me when he asks, but stares at the man sitting in front of him.

Charles sits to his right, closer than a lawyer should I believe. Although he doesn't seem too pleased to see me and there is jealousy in his glare, he gives me a brief nod in my direction when our eyes meet. Much more mature compared to last week. I'm sure by now that a man as smart as Charles would have figured out that Rodney and myself are no more than friends, and also that this is not our home, especially since he is Rodney's lawyer after all. But it isn't Charles' reaction he's watching for though, no, it's my black haired raven that sits before him.

Revon's head is held high, and going by the look on his face, it's as though he isn't bothered about Rodney's discreet hint that we live together. This is already messy enough, why must he try to make my life harder? Rodney continues to smile in his direction and talk about how we designed our home together and moved in during the week, but eyes never meet his own, or anyone's.

My friend eventually gives up with his attempt to see how Revon would feel about what he said and decides to look through the files I brought over with Charles.

I continue to stand there, silent the entire time as I take in Revons appearance. Similar to when I first laid eyes on him, he is in a suit thrown together last minute and also a size to big. His hair is more messy than usual, as though his hand has been run through it far too many times. But overall, he looks tired. He keeps his eyes away from mine, as I'm sure he can feel my intense stare on him, but once I mutter his name softly, wanting to see those large gray eyes, he cracks.

It's like a punch in the stomach when our his eyes snap up to mine and I see the wall he tries to keep up crumble immediately. In an instant, I can see tears start to build up and his eyes become glossy. Without acknowledging the other two males who are in their own world, I grab Revons hand and direct him out of the room. Although this is my first time in this apartment, I manage to find my way into a spare bedroom, and close the door behind us. Once the sound of a click is heard, words are thrown everywhere.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I... I... I had to leave to collect my files that I had to give to Mr... D-Dawson and... and I planned to return once I got them but-" he rushes out in between sniffles and tears. I cut him off before he can continue, pulling him towards me and engulfing him into a hug. He tenses at first but cries harder with more labored breaths as he clings onto me.

"Hey, Revon, sh... Calm down and take a deep breath for me! Please, you're going to give yourself a panic attack!" I say calmly as I tighten my hold on him. He tries to do as I say and eventually slumps against me, small hiccups escaping him as his breath calms down. "You don't need to explain yourself. I'm not mad at you. I was a little upset at the time, yes, but if I'm honest... I've missed you..." barely a whisper comes out as I say the words, feeling vulnerable as they do but I know they need to be said.

Revon pulls back out of my hold, face red and blotchy from his tears. He whips the remains away as he looks up at me with large determined eyes. Without warning, he steps forward and boldly presses his lips to mine in a firm, hard kiss. Just as I am about to return it, wrap my arms around him, and enjoy our first kiss together, he suddenly backs off with large eyes and face falling pale.

"Oh gosh, what have I done, I'm so sorry! That was so bad of me! Please forgive me? Don't tell Rodney..."

"Revon-"

"And in your new home! Oh my gosh. I'm a home wrecker, literally! Will you forgive me? This whole time you were with Rodney..."

"We aren't-"

"I should have known! I should have known you wouldn't be single and I had no chance, wait, isn't Rodney now engaged? Oh heavens no, your engaged!!"

"Revon!"

"I mean, I knew Rodney was in a relationship, from seeing his files. J.O'H? How could I be so stupid!"

"Revon! We're not together!" I shout, startling him in the process.

"You're not? But..." he trails off, looking at me confused.

"Total misunderstanding and miscommunication. Best of friends. Like brothers. Nothing more. And a bit of Rodney testing your jealousy. Also, J. O'H is his girl... his fiancé. Jane O'Hanlon." I step closer as he watches me, complete confusion taking over his face.

"Wait... Rodney is straight?" He asks bewildered.

I can't help the laugh that escapes me and I smile widely when Revon's eyes light up and he smiles slightly in return. "Is that really all you got from that?" I ask, chuckling softly as I step closer.

He seems to be in a slight daze before giving me a genuine but shy smile. The boldness he once had awhile ago is gone, and he hesitantly takes a step forward also. Knowing he isn't going to make the first move this time, I push my own nerves aside, and take the final step to close the gap.

And as our lips meet in a soft, gentle kiss, I can't ignore the fire that builds up inside of me, one that I've never felt before.
