Zayn slept on Evans bed grabbed his pillow and hugged it. He was happy to be in Evans room. Everything was going so well just as he had imagined in his mind. Suddenly the phone rang. It was Evans phone he had left it on the table before stepping into the shower.

Zayn ignored the call but when it rang for the third time Zayn decided to pick it up assuming it must have been an emergency.

“Hello” Zayn answered

“Hi I just thought I call and say thanks for reconsidering” Alvin replied

Zayn looked down at the phone to see the name of whom he was speaking to but it wasn't a saved number.

“Hey sorry but Evan isn't available to speak at the moment but I can take a message” Zayn replied politely

“Who are you?” Alvin asked

“I'm Evans best friend” Zayn replied confidently

“Best..friend?” Alvin asked surprisingly

“Yeah best friend” Zayn replied suspiciously

“I see,” Alvin replied before hanging up

Alvin looked down at his phone annoyed that some guy had picked up Evans phone. Something about the situation made him feel angry and irritated. He assumed he was Evans best friend so hearing another person claim that they were Evans best friend made him wonder if there was a whole other life of Evans that he didn't know about. 

He sat down for a second trying to think if there was anybody in Evans life who was closer to him than he was. Then it finally hit him, the only other person Evan ever gave so much attention to was the person he usually had video chats with and texted regularly. But the main question was how did he pick up the call if he was in another city. Could the guy have come down for a visit? Alvin sighed and realized he had some competition. He didn't want to be shoved to the side.

“ Am Evans best friend!” Alvin said as he threw his phone across the room.

Zayn put down Evans phone and walked back to the bed where he sat down wondering who it was he had spoken to on the phone. Evan walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist.

“Hey did I take long?” Evan asked

“No, you didn't. But hey you got a couple of missed calls from a weird number”

Evan walked over to his phone and went through his call log. Realizing it was Alvin's number he put his phone down.

“Oh I must have deleted his number,” Evan whispered

“Who?” Zayn asked curiously

“Just a friend who messed up” Evan replied as he walked toward his closet
