"Okay, open your eyes," my mate calmly said.

I did as he told and everything was all blurry as my eyes started to sting. I blinked a few times before I could see normally again. Everything was so dark and so unfamiliar. I could only detect the sound of the waves which was new to me. The view from up here made the sea looks so treacherous as if it would swallow us anytime if we weren't careful. There were no fishes or any animals swimming above or beside us. It was so empty. I could only see, well, hear the sea all around me. I was a little disappointed about the scenery and on top of that, it was so cold here! There was a constant cold air brushing on my skin making me shiver a little.

"You like?" asked my mate. What should I tell him? What if he liked it? Or it was a special place for him? Then, I heard him chuckled a little, "It's okay, I didn't believe you would, but I'm confident on the next thing I show you. Look up."

I did and my breath was caught in my throat. The sky was dark and there were countless shiny spots of light on top of us. My eyes roamed around and saw the now perfect white circle above us. The moon was so beautiful up here. Why did it seem bigger and whiter? I wasn't sure, but it was absolutely beautiful.

"What are the names of the shiny little things all over us?" I asked curiously as I pointed some of them.

"I heard they were named stars."

"It doesn't look like the form of a starfish to me..." I mumbled confusedly which made my mate laugh. His voice resonated all around us before being covered by the sound of the waves. It was a peaceful place. The more I looked at the sky with my mate, the more the sound of waves relaxed me. "But It's so beautiful."

"I think so too... Do you want to know something cheesy?" he asked making me look at him before nodding. "The stars remind me of you," I blushed and wondered how I looked like a star. "Each time I see you, everything else becomes blurred and dull. It's like a star, you shine so much that your shadow covers everything else, so I can only see you."

My heart started to beat faster, and I had a weird feeling at the bottom of my stomach. What was this sensation? It made me felt weird. He looked at me and put his hand on my cheek and turned my head, so I was facing him. I could hear my heart beating in my chest, and I hoped he couldn't hear it. But again, my face was burning too.

His face started to get closer to mine as I closed my eyes. I felt his lips on my forehead, then on my nose before giving me a chaste kiss on my lips. I didn't understand why, but disappointment filled my heart. I shouldn't feel this way since my mate was displaying affection. I should be joyful. Happy like my parents were. So why? I gradually unclosed my eyes and put my hand on his which was still on my cheek. I didn't dare to look at him in the eyes. I was too intimidated to show him my disappointment.

"Are you okay?" he suddenly asked making me nod furiously. "Tell me what's on your mind."

"It's nothing don't worry," I faked a smile and hope he wouldn't see through it.

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to buy it, "We are mate, or at least soon to be, and we are supposed to take care of each other. So, tell me Llyr. I won't be mad, I promise."

I hesitated a little, but I felt so bad at the thought of lying to him again when he was so honest with me at the moment.

"I... After you kissed me... I... Umm, I felt a little... Disappointed?" I explained to him not daring to look at him in the eyes and tightened my hold on his hand.

"Disappointed?" he repeated causing my body to tense up. I knew it! I shouldn't have informed him that. Oh Gods, now he despised me. I felt him pull his hand out of mine. He didn't desire me anymore. I felt something fell from the sky. I looked down and more poured down. Water? Where did it come from? I touched my cheek and it was wet too.

We release water when we are sad? I sniffed and rubbed the water away before more could fell. When he wrapped his arms around my waist, I jolted in surprise. I looked up and Cadfael was frowning.

"Why are you... Crying?" he seemed a little surprised and I wondered why.

"Y-you don't want me anymore..." I sobbed through my words causing him to hold on to me tightly.

"Who said that?"

"B-but y-you just..."

"I was surprised because I thought I was making you uncomfortable being too direct," he explained as he wiped a tear away. "In fact, I'm more than happy. I'm ecstatic to know that you want me as much as I want you."

"I-I'm sorry. I'm being s-stupid," I apologized as I tried to calm down. "I-I just thought tha-"

I didn't have time to complete my sentence because I felt my mate's lips on mine. He nibbled on it until I opened my mouth so he could slide his tongue in. I moaned and wrapped my arms around his neck. I didn't know why I missed his touch so much. But it felt really good.

He broke the kiss, so we could breathe, "I would like to go further with you, but I may not control myself. Plus, I intend to mate with you here right after the ceremony. I can't wait for you to be mine and mine only."
