Easrim Pax

The First Dinner (part three) [end]

The First Dinner (part three) [end]

Mar 11, 2019

Everyone looked at Easrim. Even the ones that started their previous conversations backup.

“That was quite loud. When was the last time you ate?” Professor Hunter asked curiously

“This morning, because I was focused on unpacking I missed lunch.” Easrim said honestly

“It sounds like you haven’t had a proper meal in weeks. Eat up.” said Professor Oswin seriously

The food did look good. There was baked potatoes, different kinds of breads, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, salmon, a large assortment of soups and that is what was near Easrim. Easrim took a whole lot of everything and ate it quickly because he was starving. It doesn’t matter what he ate he never felt like it was filling him up. Easrim noticed that when he picked up something it the dish would return to its original state so it was an infinite amount of food. Easrim could eat his fill at last without worrying about leaving enough for others. Easrim continued to eat his fill for a while until finally he felt full. Though as not even a second had passed everyone would think he had not eaten yet. So Easrim slowly picked up a baked potato and put it on his plate then he picked up a turkey leg and lastly some garlic bread.

“That is not nearly enough to fill you up” Professor Oswin said to Easrim

“Here tell me what you want and I will use my wand to program some food to come to your plate. I can do that until you get your own wand and learn how to use it.” Professor Hunter told Easrim kindly.

“I am a halform how would I use magic?” Easrim said confused.

“Wands have a certain power on there own so you can program basic things. And I am a fullform and I can use wands.” Professor Hunter explained

“What is a fullform?” Easrim asked

“Right you wouldn’t know, sorry. A fullform is a person who is born with magical parents yet has no magical power of their own.” Professor Hunter told Easrim.

“Fascinating.” Easrim said.

“So what do you want to eat?” Professor Hunter asked

So not to be rude as Professor Hunter offered to help Easrim he asked for the spaghetti, baby back ribs, and some salmon. After Easrim had finished eating Professor Hunter flicked her stick … no, her wand and the bones from the turkey and the baby back ribs vanished like they never existed. It was then Easrim had a thought.

“As this is my first time teaching what advice can my senior teachers give me?” Easrim asked

As some people were in a deep conversation they didn’t hear Easrim, but Easrim didn’t mind as he didn’t ask first so he would not be rude and interrupt their conversation and some people had heard then answered him.

“Yelling at the students when they do something wrong they will immediately correct their mistake” Oswin said first. Easrim thought that would work sometimes, but the students would fear him so he would save that for when a student does something unacceptable.

“Let the little things go.” said Professor Riden

“Be inconstant.” said Professor Malum

“Be defensive.” said Professor Weston

“Act like you figured everything out.” said Professor Sharmaine

“Plan out your curriculum for the entire year.” said Professor Sana

“Thank you for your wise words” Easrim said in a grateful tone.

“If River didn’t expose us we wouldn’t have lost her to that school.” said Professor Layton

“I doubt that was what made a difference, but I agree she will be brainwashed into hating her own kind.” said Professor Fitz

“What is wrong Professor Layton, Professor Fitz?” Easrim asked concerned. Professor Layton and Professor Fitz jumped as their conversation was interrupted. They then sighed and Professor Layton said.

“A nullmage, a witch born from a family of halforms, girl was taken in by her aunt and uncle and they refuse to let us teach her they want to sent her to Cavern Utopia!”

“Cavern Utopia is a school deep in a cave that is run by vampires and they brainwash their students to hate fantasy related things and they also take blood from their students as payment.” Professor Fitz explained.

“What is her name and the address?” Easrim asked

“Why?” asked Professor Layton

“I want to help.” said Easrim

“I don’t see how you can help…. But it’s worth a shot. Her name is Ruby Sunshine and the address is 46 Gorbon Drive” answered Professor Fitz

“Ok sorry that I am not staying longer, but I need to make a few phone calls” Easrim said

“At least finish your-” Professor Trent trailed off as he realized that Easrim didn’t have food on his plate only crumbs and bones. Professor Trent looked under the table for something when he got back up he said “Where is your food?“

“In my stomach.” Easrim replied

“How? It hasn’t even been a minute and forty-five seconds and you talking for some of that time.” Professor Trent said in a confused voice.

“I am a fast eater.” Easrim said

“Obversely, so how did you eat that fast is it a type of magic?” Professor Trent said in a unsure voice.

“No, I am a halform. Well goodnight everyone see you tomorrow” said Easrim clearly done with the conversation. Professor Trent obviously wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery, but he yielded for tonight. Everyone bid Easrim a good night. Easrim started to walk away, but turned back to the group of teachers and said. “Before I forget I need a really fancy car to pull this off can one of you copy a certain car for me if it is possible?”

“Sure we can, but as it has multiple parts it has to be copied by a wizard or witch as it is too complex for the average wand. Although how much are you planning to drive” said Professor Maxine

“Less than a thousand miles. Why?” Easrim asked

“Well everything has to fail sometime, but if it is less than a thousand miles we will have plenty of room to spare.” Professor Maxine said.

A little confused by what she meant, but needing to make a that phone call soon Easrim left the question had there.

“I need a 2019 Holpur” As soon as Easrim finished speaking there was chaos at the teachers table.

“What did he say?”

“That cost over five million dollars!”

“How would we even get close to the car?”

“Not only a Holpur, but a 2019 Holpur.”

“He’s mad.”

“Why do you need that car?”

“What for?”

“I didn’t hear the conversation. Why does he need a Holpur?”

“What is going on? Who needs a Holpur?”

“Can you keep it down people are in the middle of a conversation!”

For the the people that heard Easrim they were either questioning his sanity or wondering who they would even get close such a secure car.

“I have an … artifact that can get us close to a 2019 Holpur. How long should it take for you to copy the Holpur?” Easrim asked.

“A- about a minute...” said Professor Maxine, clearly taken aback about the type of car that Easrim wants to copy.

“Ok. Who wants to help me copy the Holpur?” Easrim asked the teachers

The whole table goes quiet. After about a minute Easrim says “I really need this for the plan to work.” another minute passes then Professor Professor Maxine sighs and says

“I can help if you want.”

“Thank you Professor Professor Maxine.” Easrim said in a grateful tone and then continued to say

“The best time should be at midnight so where should I meet you?”

“Why at midnight?” Professor Professor Maxine asked

“The place I want go is in the Pacific time zone.” Easrim said

“Has the artifact been there before?” Professor Professor Maxine asked

“No...er...actually it has.” Easrim lied remembering the conversation with Professor Natille as soon as he arrived at Buffleetoes.

Professor Maxine raised an eyebrow clearly not believing Easrim, but she did not press the issue.

“I will be in the entrances hall five minutes to midnight.” Professor Maxine finally said.

“Ok see you then.” Easrim said

Professor Trent opened his mouth clearly to start the conversation of where the food went. So Easrim said. “I really need to make those phone calls so see you later.” And then Easrim left the Great hall.
