Antidote: Healing The Past

I woke up the next morning tired and my head was beginning to throb. It felt like it was being smashed against the wall. I got up from my warm bed to feel the cold floor. It annoyed me, but I didn’t put much thought into it I put on some old jeans and a black shirt with a lightning bolt. I slid on some yellow slides and walked out of my room. I was going to ask Tanoris a question, but he was in the middle of something with Demaris. I didn’t really think much of it because a blond boy disrupted my thoughts. He looked liked he was concentrating, until he was right in front of me. “Hey! I’m your in!” I looked at him strangely. “Your… in?” he nodded. “ Yup, First name, Your in. Last name, My spot.” I looked down and saw an X where I was standing so I moved. He laughed, causing me to laugh too. “You must be new; no one ever comes to visit me.” I felt bad. He was isolated from everyone else. I wondered why. “ I’m Xeke. But you can call me Patient Z. They don’t know my name starts with an X.” I felt guilty, like I am not supposed to be there. “Why are you called Patient Z, Xeke?” He chuckled, his cat like features moved with him. “I’ll show you!” He started holding his head, concentrating again, and he popped up on the other side of the child-like room. It looked like him, blonde, hazel eyes, and tan skin. He was short, but he was a little shorter than me so that would explain that. His nose was a little small and his ears were perked up. He was adorable. It started to move and then it sputtered, screaming in the process, ten it dissipated. “My power, hologram; it’s not working. It uses my memories, but I can’t do anything else but that sputter and my head hurts when I try. They said when it does right again, they’ll let me go,” he explained happily, but it saddened my heart to know that something is wrong. He was so cute and sweet, like a stuffed animal. “Well, I am interested in you Xeke. I-”

“Interested as in you like me?” His eyes grew big and sparked. I laughed gently and smiled. “Yes, Xeke. I like you. So, I’m gonna come back everyday to see you.” Tears welled up in his eyes as he hugged me tight. “You’re my first ever friend. You don’t know how happy I am!”

“Ya know, I think I do know.”
