For a while, I’ve been visiting Xeke everyday. And everyday the same results came about. His hologram stuttered and screamed and dispersed into thin air. And each day, I saw Xeke getting even more tired than before. So today, I did something different. I asked Kidet if he could help me, but he said he wouldn’t be much help. He told me to ask the self affiliated nurse, and she said she’d help. Her name was Arthus, it sounded like a boy’s name yes, but she was extremely talented from what I heard. She had smooth, dark skin, like dark chocolate and her voice was extremely soft and silky. But she made her presence known. She wasn’t one to be messed with; just as she knew the cure for issues, she could also cause your issues. I lead her to Xeke’s room, but it was extremely dark and the door was locked. The white hallway loomed over the two of us as I tried to figure out how to get in. I put my ear to the door and heard rumbling. I knocked on the door and heard the strangest thing ever. It sounded like the devil and hatred came together and started to speak. “Who’s knocking at your door?” it said seeming to not be speaking to us. I heard my poor, little Xeke’s voice quivering a response, “I..I don’t k-know. P-please go away.” Arthus grabbed my arm and dragged me away form the door. “I’ll go get Kidet. You stay here and make sure nothing happens.” I nodded and took off my shoes, only leaving my socks. I slid my feet like I was skating to limit the noise.
“Boy, don’t test my patience. I’m not getting paid enough for it. What do you know about Prince Nirodi?” The mysterious and impatient voice boomed out.
“I told you already!” Xeke hissed, “I don’t know who that is!”
“Well you must know his sister? I need details now!”
It was silent for a while until I heard Xeke scream. At that point I was very afraid. Soon enough Kidet and Arthus had came and without question, Kidet slammed himself into the door, breaking it down whole. Because I visited so often, I knew my way around the happy psycho room. I reached to the left and turned on the light and a grey mist became visible next to a frightened hologram that disappeared after a while. I saw Xeke far behind the mist doing something with his hands. Kidet asked no questions and dashed towards the mist and attempted to roundhouse it, but it evaded his leg and moved. I used reflector for battle for the first time in years, which I wasn’t used to anymore. I reflected the room, but it was hard when The room wasn’t coordinated at all. The lights had different tones and had different wavelengths so I had to adjust to multiple different protons at once. Arthus began making something and she looked at me. “If he’s mist that means he must be able to liquidate or solidify, right? And if I’m correct, his power should also affect his organs and bloodstream so he can’t maintain that form for long.” Arthus was a genius, thank goodness she wanted to help. She began to pour some liquid from a bottle, which was labeled as liquid nitrogen, into a separate, smaller bottle. She then throw it at the misted enemy. The mist started to fall, but a figure still remained. He wore a grey hangcoat, black boots, and a black shirt. His face was melted, like he had been through acid to get here. “Ha ha. Well aren’t you smart? I never-HUGH!” We were confused for a while until I saw Xeke with his hands out with chains coming from his palms. He looked exhausted. He had bags under his eyes and he looked like he was shaking, but he pulled tightly on the chains. Kidet came from behind him and wrapped him with his arms which constricted him. “Give me one reason I shouldn’t kill you.” Kidet spat and venom came from out his mouth.
“Because dear friend, I’m simply getting information. And careful, if you drink your own saliva, you could potentially die.” His voice was now calm and easy. Kidet spit out some more venom and tightened his grip around him. “Bull.”
“I am really. Only information. And the girl of course. Who knows what power could unfold if she matur-” Kidet bit him with his short teeth and held the man as he pulled him down to the ground. Xeke fell with them, his chains still around him. Arthus and I ran to Xeke to make sure he was okay. “You never told me you had that power!” I exclaimed in awe as Arthus looked at him and examined him.
“Well, that’s not the only one. I was only focusing on holograms, but I have other powers too!” He weakly smiled and fell over. I got him before he fell and Arthus set him on the bed looking into his eyes and looking for any marks on him. I then walked over to Kidet who looked satisfied with himself. “Well, there’s that enemy taken out. I’ll take him to Tanoris and check surveillance to see how he got in. If you want you can go with me since you are a witness.” I nodded and told Arthus to keep safe. We dragged the man’s limp body to Tanoris’s door and knocked. He came out with black jeans and a grey shirt on. Kidet stared at him and shook his head. “Tanoris, we need to talk. Now.” After a while, we explained what happened as Tanoris wrote everything down while looking at footage from outside cameras. “How did he even know how to get in here? Where did you find him?”
“We saw him in a ro-” I nudged Kidet, letting him know not to tell. Xeke said no one visited him which is probably for a reason; I couldn't let anyone besides them know about Xeke. He sighed, “In a hallway near a locked room. The lights were off, but he had came from the left of the room.” I had made sure there were no cameras in the area so we could get away with it. I nodded in agreement with what Kidet said. Tanoris closed his eyes and thought for a while. “Alright. Well, we’ll fix the lack of security. And since you’re both here, Kidet, you have a solo mission to investigate this jungle region near Embosa. Nirandi, you have a mission with Demaris. I already told him where and who the target is, so he should be able to fill you in.” I was elated to hear the news and Kidet couldn’t care less. I prepared my things and went straight to Demaris.
