September 29th was a cool day, as fall had just started.

No, cool wasn't the right word.
It was frigid, it even snowed a bit.

We still had school that day, and my best friend and I were on our way to school. 
We had decided to walk instead of being driven.

The walk wasn't that long, around seven to eight minutes.
I had lived in a rather small community at this point in time, where everyone knew everyone.

"Look Markus, theres a little snowman in the middle of the sidewalk!" 
I remember my best friend, Jamie, saying to me.

I looked to where he was pointing, and just like he said, there was indeed a snowman.

The snowman was no larger than the palm of my hand, and had two tiny black pebbles for eyes, and a little carrot nose.

"What do you think its name is, Mark? I think it looks like a...like a Marie!"

I shook my head.
"I think it looks more like a Dewey!"

We both knelt in front of it, getting our faces right in the snowman's business. 

After a few minutes of staring, we decided to come up with a name.

"How about...How about Va- Vas....VASILLY!"
It was a no brainer.

"A perfect name for the perfect snowman!"

Both satisfied with the name, we began walking towards the school once again.
